Rumours in 2009 I'd think, a release late 2010 seems common sense. Xbox360 will be 5 years old by that point.

Indeed. IT was gonna need to happen soon enough anyway.
Of course, a lot of people may still need to upgrade to 1080p (including myself), but they'll still heavily support 720p I'd think.

As long as the next set of consoles manage to do (at the very least) 720p at a steady frame rate, I honestly couldn't care less if the graphics were on par with what we've got now.

Tbh I think 1080p is overkill. Stick to 720p plx but with better framerate, no tearing, moar AA and AF.

Developers can already buy early dev kits for the new xbox and playstation AFAIK. So not too far away

Hope so, I'd love a new gameboy. As nice as the DS is, it was just meant to be a device to test the market in-between gameboy releases.
