SE C902

This is most bizarre - can't understand why would they remove it from firmware - especially that "torch" is the only benefit of LED flash.

Can people with branded firmware other than Voda (3, O2 etc) confirm the "light" function is missing from their Organizer section as well?

Copy that,
thats a negative on O2.
Only able to access light via video.

After 12 months of walking round with a brick in my pocket (N95),
no shortcut for a light is a small sacrifice for a slimline sexy phone.

you seem to hate what is generally thought of an an extremely good phone (the n95). im puzzled by that lol. calling it a brick is just funny. it might be twice the thickness of my iphone, but its smaller in the hand. its not a big phone by any means, that it looks bigger than it really is.

im struggling to see (bar size, if thats important) what the c902 actually offers over the n95?

My gripe with the N95 was that it is an over engineered piece of technology (imo) with applications that i never used that slowed down the phones performance. Ok i got romanticised by the fact it was the first 5 meg camera phone out when i got it, however if you wanted to take a quick snap you could forget it as it takes ages for the camera to a) start and b) focus. Guess i just prefer SE operating system more than Nokia. My previous phones have been;
SE T610
Nokia 6600
Nokia 7610
SE k750i
SE K800i
N95
and now the 902.
Guess i just find SE more user friendly.

Just exchanged by N95 8GB for one of these. Is being delivered to my work tomorrw morning.

The N95 is a serious bit of kit, but the endless menus, unnecessary features (for me) and general slowness of the phone (was very surprised how long applications and simple took top open/begin) got me annoyed. It has several nice features (E.g. WLAN, screen rotates when you rotate the phone) which made me go for it initially, but when i factored those out I had a very bulky/heavy phone with bloated software. In all honesty I prefer my old k800i - that opened everything really fast abnd everything i needed was to hand. However, I did manage to play quake 2 on it, that was quite good, as was the internet browsing.

Lets hope the C902 is better.

I'm very interested in how you find the C902 as I'm getting a new phone soon and it's a toss-up between that and the N95.

Well as i said above I was kinda overwhelmed by the N95 8GB's stats initially. I'd say if you a mobile PC then get this. Its basically got everything i can think of phone wise. All the menus in the end annoyed me, as i have the phone with me all the time and am constanyl using it.

The most annoying thing was the names of contacts bnot showing in my sms inbox - the number was displayed. This annoyed me no end. I'm sure there's some kind of workaround, but I couldn't find it. The names showed correctly in my Outbox though :|

I also thought for a new phone the menus, applications and overall feel of the phone was very laggy. Even in my short time of owing one (tried it out for a day) I had to restart the phone twice and experinced numerous lock ups. Java games took an age to load tbh and gave up - managed to get that car game and aracde type shooter thing loaded a few times though.

Also, probs most surprisngly i found the build quality very low. When texting there was a kind of plasticy 'creacking' noise. I could also imagine the slider breaking at some point as that seemed very flimsey. When i compared this my k800i, that feels very solid and very well made the N95 felt even worse.

I'm sure if I'd have stuck with it for longer I could have learned to live with the above, but personally it just felt wrong, bulky and bogged down with countless amounts of useless features I'd probably never use.

I'll do a quick post about the C902 tomorrow night :)

Ordered one of these for the wife today as an upgrade from Orange!

Got a free 8gb memory card thrown in too..

Will be here tomorrow

Must say have been using the C902 for half a day now and am very impressed. As soon as you pick it up you can its a millions times better built than the N95 8GB - even from how you insert your memory/sim cards it just feels like it costs 10 times as much as the N95 8GB :) Everything you need is easily to hand and more is there and its very easy to use. Can't believe how thin it is, this thing can fit in my shirt easily.

For me, the C902 wins any day over the N95. Not sure how to describe it other than it feels like a hughely updated version of my k800i with more features, yet it keeps the intuitive menu system. Very impressed so far and will be keeping this phone. Haven't experienced any lag at all (well the first time you access items on the memory card it takes about 30 seconds to scan - this is a one time occurence) or any lockups. For anyone who has had the k800i, you'll immediately notice how much more vivid the C902's screen is. I believe its a similar resolution, but the pictures instantly jump out at you. Lucy Pinder has never looked so hot :)

Im also over the moon as i can now rewind and fast forward through videos - something i could never do on k800i :)

Overall, would definately recommend this

Damn, suarve. You just have to make this decision more difficult for me, don't you!?

Hah seriously though, thank you very much! Can the C902 record video (VGA quality: 640*480) at 30FPS like the N95? Also, how would you compare the camera overall?

IMO the N95 feels like a cheap plastic toy. The C902 is seriously well made. I'm liking how i can put in it in my pocket and forget it there. Did that twice today :)

Just discovered an amazing feature on the c902.
In the cam settings set to add location, then after taking any pic view in media go to more options and select 'view on map' and google maps will show you where in the world you were when you took the pic.

Big Brother is watching!!!!:D
