peco and magnex exhausts go bust

Two mates of mine work at CLF in Tibshelf, Derbyshire that produce Micron, Magnex stuff along with other stuff, and were told today that they still have their jobs, but 60 of the 95-strong workforce have been laid off. They produced a lot of systems for Aston Martin apparently.

Was just thinking this the other day - was looking for some documentation and realised the Magnex site has been down for a while.

It's a shame as the Magnex systems are good quality and seem very popular... got one myself.

If you go to a propper exaust shop/maker then there is nothing wrong with custom made:)

true, although i have seen some horrific examples of shoddy systems from so called "one off " places , i wont mention the name but there a national chain...
rember the work will only be as good as the guy making it, if he cant be arsed or wants to take short cuts youll end up with rubbish.
also its amazing the work that goes into making an exhaust system, most big companies will fully flow an engine and system during the design process ( often lasting two to three weeks ) to make the most power, and its often surprising how much power can be gained and lost through design , bore and materials used!

Powerloss....or was it powerflow?

If they were Mexican their mission statement could be: 'We don't need no steenking mandrel bends'

i kinda thinking the same. this current "recession" is nothing but a media hyped up "slow" down in economics, not a recession....

of corse if the media keep stuffing it down our throats it MAY happen anyway. (ie people stop spending because of coming recession that media report on, which inturn creates it?)

Come to the city then...
