Toyota MR2. Any good ?

lol it's not aimed at a female audience, which is my point.

I don't see any ridiculous body kits or pretend lip kits stuck on my car either.

I don't see any ridiculous body kits or pretend lip kits on that MR-S either, it is a full on race prepped car, the aero parts and wide arches are on it as they serve a purpose.

The Mr2 Mk2 is a fantastic car. Drives well, lots of power, good acceleration, looks amazing and the t-bar roof just tops it off. Some people call it a girls car and that's fine, it's their opinion and at the end of the day they're the ones missing out so who the hell cares :)

Got a 2006 10th Anniversary Edition in silver. Just drove home with the roof off in the sun and I'm loving it. Best vehicle I've ever owned/been in tbh.

Alternatively if you want to feel like more of a "man" just buy a Mitsubishi with some oh so scary 'angry looking lights' and stick some mesh in the front ;)

I really like the MK3 MR2, just waiting for them to come down a little more in price, then I'll get one and drop in a VVTLi lump, should be pretty easy to do and I think it will be a real laugh :)

MR2's are great. I love the Mk3 and will get one when they are cheaper. Have had a Mk2 and am now running a Mk1 (D plate) as a daily commuter **** and it is ace for the trip to work - proper fun. Ignore the 'it's a girls car' rubbish, they handle well on the right tyres, have the soft-top which is nice and are reliable. Looks have grown on me a lot. Oh, watch out for rattles on acceleration - pre-cat (apparently) is prone to dying and costs £££'s to fix. Check out www.mr2oc.co.uk & www.twobrutal.com or one of the other mr2 geek sites.

MK3's look good to me, was toying with the idea of one as a next car, but with the gf having an MGF thought one of us should have 4 seats...so I'm looking at Celicas :)

I've had one for about a month now and I must say it still gives me a huge smile every time I sit in it! Cost me £5k with AC, full leather and the hard top, and has just had an almost full engine swap out under warranty (still breaking it in lol).

Handling with the generic tyres Toyota slapped on it was awful, and the back felt very twitchy. I've since stuck some 16" wheels on with Toyo T1R's and performance in the wet is improved to a silly degree.

It's not without its rattles - the speakers rattle when loads of bass is pumping out and low gear acceleration rattles from the rear, but that's pretty much it.

One annoyance I've had with it is that it seems nigh on impossible to find a fascia adapter that'll allow me to stick my own head unit in - if anyone can help with that it'd be appreciated!

Storage wise, it's pathetic. But I bought the car 'cause it's fun, not 'cause I wanted the practicality. If you need to make long journeys with plenty of luggage, I recommend you have yourself insured on a bigger car as well!

I'm also a shade over 6ft, which can cause a problem with visiblity from time to time!

Have a look at this one. I know it says for a Rav4 but if you search for it yourself ( Fitting Adaptors>Toyota>MR2 Roadster ) you can see that it comes under Mk3 MR2. If it doesn't fit then I am sure that you can get a refund.

Already purchased and tried. Numerous pieces of plastic kept getting in the way, so I introduced them to the jigsaw ;D Still no luck though!

MK3 is a horrible looking car imo... MK2s are very much the opposite.

MK3 handles more like the MK1 did though. Which is what a lot of people prefere over the MK2.

There are a couple of people over at twobrutal with a V6 in them aswell:D
