Thats the one. So how does that make MS's system stupid, if it takes the system used by(most ?) major banks and building soceity's ? (IIRC I never asked for VISA debit, it was standard issue)

Because Maestro is the largest banking format used across all of Europe. It doesn't accept it, nor does it accept it's little sister, Solo.

It forces people to use Credit Cards or bank branch Visa's, of which HSBC, NatWest, nor Lloyds use, it's the smaller branches like Barclays and Nationwide who do. As a result I cannot buy on Xbox360's service because they've isolated a massive section of home users who have the largest card format used in Britain and widely used across Europe.

Sony give the option to use Maestro, Solo, and all credit cards.

Fallout 3 is on!

EDIT-I closed it, because oddly, I'm not really interested in Fallout, just looks...boring to me :/

Oh i must have missed this.

The ability to upload game clips directly from your PS3 and onto youtube, users can vote for the quality of the video. It is our understanding that only certain games will support this feature .

Other internet goodies are to follow with what Sony like to call “Life with Playstation.” This will include Live News, Live Webcam, and Live Weather among other innovations. We’ll bring you more as it comes.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. Half of those banks are robbing gits though.

They can't please everyone. Even if you hate it, its good news if worldwide sales increase, due to it being more pleasing on the eye/easier to use.
I think many parts of the world will take the avatars light heartedly rather than feeeling they are kiddy.

I hope there's an option to turn it off so everyone wins.

Though I doubt they'd include the option.

Fallout 3 looks really good, im starting to really get into RPG games now as a lot of developers are starting to create them more open ended, not so much linear anymore and the huge amount of gameplay that you get out of them.

This is how i see the 3 conferences,
1) Microsoft
Same old games they been showing since start of the year, Fable 2, Gears 2, Banjo nuts and bolts etc, no new "big" exclusives, the only new games was newer versions of older XBLA titles and a couple of exclusive XBLA remakes. The 360 dashboard looks better not so garish, but reminds me of Vista now (not a bad thing), the avatar thing looks like a compromise of home avatars and miis. The netflix thing is cool if your in the states but cant you stream netflix movies to your PC or web browser anyway? Not great that all streamed content seems to be sub SD, would be a nice feature to have in the UK. The actual conference itself felt stale if you see what i mean, missed Peter Moores presence on stage. The "MEGATON" of FF13 now being a 360 and a PS3 game was unexpected, but makes perfect sense to me. In Impact alone for the FF13 announcement it probably wins, but content as a whole i didnt think it was that great, and wasnt a good "show".

2) Nintendo
Well were do i start, the sean white snow board game looked good fun, Animal Crossing got confirmed for a 2008 release and probably one of the bigger announcements was the WiiSpeak ability. WiiSpeak is Nintendo’s answer to voice chat, but instead of having it be person to person this will focus on a group or party of players shouting at one another. The new wii sports game with the new wiimote addon was a bit underwhelming, the only bit i thought was ingesting was the fencing game as it now looks like with this a proper sword fighting game could happen. Wii music seems well a bit of a joke TBH, unless its more than just wave your arms about like a loon! Overall the worst conference ive seen for many years, even more than the riiiiidddggggee raaaccceeeerr Sony one in 06.

3) Sony
First of all i will say that it was the slickest of all the presentations, very professional. The main problem with Sony is that i think they could extend it by an hour or so as trying to show 3 consoles you seem to get lost in reels of trailers and not much time to take stuff in. First of all the Res2 boss battle looked fun but graphically needs a bit of polish and some of the textures didnt look great, but the cloverfield monster looked good, liked the trailer though the radio voice over bloke reminded me of orson wells war of the worlds one lol. Needed a on stage demo TBH, may happen in the insomniac PR thing. PS2 thing seemed a bit of a waste but i guess with millions of PS2 owners still out there and the console still selling pretty well they still need something. PSP had some cool stuff SSHD, Resistance, patapon 2 and loco roco 2 seemed they would be good. As for PS3 things most things we saw is things we have seen all this year ( much like MS one), and not anything new for 2008. The GOW3 CGI looked good, but then its CGI, i for one dont see a problem with a CGI trailer, ever since Killzone 2 showed its muscles and was pretty darn close to the 2005 CGI trailer. The PSN stuff seemed awesome, a whole Ratchet PSN game using the RCFTOD engine was a surprise, some of the other PSN games looked good, cant wait for next week when Siren comes out on the PSN and Flower looked well strange! The only surprise was the new Zipper 256 player MAG, liked to seem some proper footage of it in the coming months. Infamous looks cool, PS3 answer to crackdown and more, shame its another 09 release. In all the Sony conference had no real big surprises, but showed more games than either of the other 2, it was ok pretty average but not OMG moments TBH.

All in all its been a bit of a disappointing 3 conference so far, highlights for me so far.
The new 360 Dash looks a lot better than before
Netflix/movie download for the 360 and PS3.
Hopefully 1:1 wiimote control for a proper sword fighting game on the wii
And the biggest highlight for the show for me .
The littlebigplanet powerpoint presentation! I want my company to use it, it would make meetings so much more fun!

Prob upset a few people, sorry if i did but thats how i see it. If i was to rate them so far MS a B- (only for the net meltdown lol) Sony C+ pretty average no surprises, Nintendo C- no shock it was mostly casual but i have high hopes for the new wiimote add on.
