I want a typewriter!

lol ive used a traditional one before if you mess something up though you will scream :p

never used an electronic typewriter before mind.

I think the OP just wants to hear the clicking and the PING !! when he has finished a line :p hehe

Have you not used one before? Typewriters are a massive pain, I used to use them in the 80s before we got our first IBM and Atari 520.

If you make a mistake you have start the page again or use Tip-Ex, which makes the page look careless. Unless you're an excellent typist I wouldn't bother. These days we take programs like Word for granted.

I have an old mechanical one somewhere, I was tempted to take it into sixth form before instead of my laptop but it weighs rather a lot! Also I'm pretty sure it has a "delete" key which covers the last typed character with something. I'll have to check later...

Get one of those keyboards with the loud keys that clack when you hit them, and close your eyes. And figure out a way to attach a bell to the enter key, and you'll be fine.

Laptop* actually...but yes, and i would like a typewriter as well..instant printing too! ;)

:) Trust me, you'll use it for 5 minutes and then throw then damn thing in a cupboard.

Do still use them mind, for filling in forms occasionally, however its very irritating and only brought forth from the cupboard with the greatest of reluctance.

Get Adobe Acrobat instead and use that, scan the form and write on it. Hell, just print the text layer on the original form if you want, using a scan as a guideline. Its much less hastle. ;)

Err....can't think of what else you'd want one for other than for filling in certain forms.

Typewriters are awesome :D

I have one that blue and was made in the 60's :D

Ebay would be good to find old vintage ones of course :) or antique shops =P

Would you like to do a race? Me on my PC with a very slow printer from the late 90's vs. you on a type writer. No mistakes allowed to be present on the printed document, tip ex is OK to use...

Btw. Ebay 99p etc.

I don't want to race...
Speed is of no real concern to me as if i wanted speed, i would use my laptop...just the whole typewriter thing appeals. :)
