The thing with Samsung is .... if you're lucky then they're great teles (I'm lucky and my M86 hasn't missed a beat).... if you're not, they're faulty and a pain in the arse. This could go for all brands however it seems to blight Samsung more than others because their quality control seems a bit suspect.

I dont have the same model but my A457 (I think thats the number) has been superb, no regrets. Although I will admit that the two panny Dx80's I had to send back did have better black levels, but the samsung is still good.

Seems like we got lucky, we have two 40" M86's in the house and both have been great.

Had a look at the remote in currys and there's a "light" on/off button -- what is that for exactly? there wasnt a customer sales person round for me to ask ... never around when you want tehm but will pester you til kingdom come when you dont

It lights up some of the buttons on the remote:

Volume up/down buttons
program up/down buttons
current input button
mute button

I was interested in the Sammy 6 series (40") also, but after reading this thread other a couple of reviews im being put off.

I hear it also suffers from ghosting in ares such as watching sport, football etc.

I guess playing games on it would be the same?

I really wanted this TV as well!

I hear from a few reviews that ghosting is apparent watching Sports fast moving objects etc.

Sound is an issue from the sammy panels also

Thing is every panel seems to have its flaws, it all comes down to what yir willing to put up with
