Do you drive auto or manual transmision?

I drove auto for years, never managed to get the hang of manual.

But one of the things with PGR series which i have loved is the semi auto nature of being able shift up and down gears manualy if you need to and let it do the majority of shifting.

I loved that about PGR3, always used it to start the Enzo in 2nd to get a better start off the line.

When I got Forza 2, I made the effort to drive manual. Learning curve wasn't as steep as I thought it would be, and I haven't driven auto since.

Auto, just not the same with a pad, you don't have the feel of the car or engine to know when to change and you are to busy looking at the corners to change gear especially a faced paced game like PGR4

I don't think i have the speedy fingers to gear change, brake, accelerate, corner and look out for other cars at the same time. AUTO for me.

Manual! I tried auto once and spent the next 2 days in the shower trying to scrub off the stench of "poofness".

Manual, most games seem to reward manual very well, and for a sim its pretty much essential if you want to have full control over the car.

Manual these days.

I used to use auto until PGR3, where i got annoyed with the auto box shifting down to first gear in corners for no reason. So i switched to manual, and have used it since through PGR3, 4 and Forza 2.

Manual in real car! Auto in games. Can't do proper manual without the feel of an engine at your feet and fingertips. And it's just plain weird witout a clutch.

For a sim-esque game like GT/Forza it's Manual and it definitely gives an advantage, to a more arcadey game like PGR I generally go auto as it's ever so slightly easier (especially so when sliding the car around) and the benefit manual gives is lessened by the arcadey nature of the game...
