Jobless to work 'clearing litter' !!!

Also wonder what's the required hours? For £60 JSA as a example, with NMW 10 hours. But I bet expected to do 38 hours for that £60 :-/
And so you should. It's nots a proper job. Your helping society out who are paying your way and it's not until after two years, TWO friggin' years. If your on the dole that long your lazy and it should be a punishment.

Ah so it's slave labour then. And breaking NMW, basically not a job, so we don't have to pay you.

It's not a job it's jsa and no it shouldn't be NMW as that would mean people wouldn't find there own jobs and just go on jsa, as it would be easier and you would still get the minimum wage.

Ah so it's slave labour then @£1.57/hour. And breaking NMW, basically not a job, so we don't have to pay you. I'll do 38 hours but have to pay £209

Sounds perfect, makes the dole significantly less attractive than working, now they just need to sort the other benefits out.

It seems that a few here want to punish people who are unemployed, a small minded attitude IMHO. The extra energy would be better spent achieving things in your life rather than worrying about what others are doing.

What like IB and national pension?
Will be funny when you lot in jobs receive this letter

"Dear Employee

Thanks to new goverment policy, we can hire staff for 1/5th of your wage. So you're FIRED! We gladly take you back in 2 years, at the newly reduced rate"

Fools.

Nope as most people wont be willing to work a full week for £48 so they will simply have to find a job. What you are saying simply wont happen. I'm glad you hate it, perhaps it will give you the kick up your rear you need.

I'll stop worrying about what others are doing when I'm no longer paying for it. Anyway, I don't wish to punish the unemployed, I want to punish those after a free ride from the rest of us over an extended period through claiming benefits when they are perfectly capable and able of working, just unwilling for whatever reason.

I don't care whether people who can work are unemployed, I care that people who can work are choosing unemployment while the rest of us pay for it.

I don't want to punish anyone, I want to see people work rather than spend my taxes which oddly enough does matter to me, I feel its energy well spent writing a few words on the internet if it convinces somebody to go and start contributing to society.

working for JSA isn't punishment, its fair.

Did you write to your MP yet? I suggested it earlier in the thread.

As if arguing on the internet ever convinced anyone to do anything.

Write to your MP if you want to show your dissatisfaction with the benefits system.

You're not paying for it, the government are. It's not your money, you pay them for a service that you can make use of. Similarly, you have no say in thousands of medical operations, a medicated army of drug recipients and children moved from foster home to foster home every single day.

... again, wasted energy. It doesn't effect you, write to your MP, it will take up time.

No, that's not true, that implies I have choice about whether to give money to the government or not. What actually happens is the government takes my earnings under duress, it's essentially legalised theft or blackmail. Given that, I'd at least like some say in (a) how it's being spent and (b) how much they spend.

You seem to be taking this quite personally, yet have tried to claim it's my problem not yours several times. Will you be being forced to do something for your money soon?

The goverment is there to do our bidding. It's our goverment and so yes it is still our money.

They just seem to ignore the fact they're meant to be doing things on our behalf.

NHS is not a waste of money like JSA

tbh it sounds like you're a money grabbing bunch of moaners. My money boo hoo.
We earn it and it's depressing seeing 30+% going straight to the goverment, then council tax, vat, car tax, fuel duty and the 1000001 other taxes that we have to pay.

I'd take a bet if JSA stopped, they would be a influx of people into jails.

Then so be it, but I hope most of the people would have enough morals just to find work. Even though they think it's fine to sponge of society.

What are you doing about 70% gas increase? Complain. I had to pay for things I have no interest in paying. I don't have kids so why should I pay for schools? Not religious again £100 a year goes to the church. Don't own a car so why should I pay for tarmaccing roads?

Why would you, it costs more to but gas so prices rise. It's the governments fault for not building nuclear power 10 years ago. No point complaining as nuclear power has been given the go ahead but will take at least a decade to build.
