Going out costs

Just curious...

How much do you "usually" spend on a night out? (drinks no food) :)

Need to stop starting rounds when no-one else is going to join in ;)

About 40-80 quid in London, it all depends on where you go, what drinks you have, and how thirsty you are.

Student night in newcastle - £30 with £5 taxi and £5 mcdonalds. You can easily do a night out for a tenner with pre drinking, as you can get three treble vodkas for £5.50 in bars. and you can just eat when you get back and walk, we take a taxi though as were lazy, and its freezing up north.

back home in leeds i can easily go through £50 on a "student" night and not even feel drunk. so rediculously expensive compared to newcastle.

Today it was £10.

Last Saturday and Sunday combined was about £20 (although + £30 for a ticket to Truck festival).

Week before was £5 (got bought loads of stuff :p).

I don't go clubbing, as you can probably tell. Also, 3 beers gets me wasted...

£40 for me and gf (£20 each) here in Cancun. £80 if we eat out then go out clubbing.

Edit: And £20 if we go out on a 'girls in free' night to a place with an open bar

£80 or so on a relatively local night, including taxis and food. £120+ in a city.

Sounds about right.. Easy! Quite frightening really.

I often ask how younger people can afford it.. but then I forget they may not have mortages and families to support.

Neither of us drink so nowt :p

Though we did spend the princely sum of £10 on going to the cinema last night, that includes tickets (orange wednesday \o/), Popcorn (bought from Sainsbury's), and a couple of bottles of Sprite (again from sainsbury's).

You buy a round of milkshakes? :p

Usually go out in groups of 4/5 but tend not to buy rounds. Have a few drinks before going out which usually means we'll have 5/6 while we're out which is approximately £15. £5 to get into a club after a few bars and then taxi home which is never more than a fiver each.

I try and spend as little as possible, but when you're having a laugh it's hard not to. For me going out consists of food usually as well so that clocks it up, certainly with some decent bottles of wine. However being London it's rather expensive and don't get away with less than £60 as a minimum however with a meal it's easily around £120 minimum. A couple of times a year I will have a £300+ night out, but that's usually as a treat. I'm not a huge drinker however, and not a big beer monster. So I don't really know how I clock up those costs! However I seldom take taxis home so that cost is waived somewhat.

Normal weekend night around 100 quid, I get wrong off my lass if we are out with her friends as they are bums and will accept drinks and not buy one back, I am just used to buying rounds with friends that it never really jumped at me that they might not buy one back.

Started to realise it a lot more with some of her friends tho and have stopped offering them drinks, actually I have made a point of offering everyone else one except them :D
