I'm seriosly thinking getting that Leadtek GTX280

So what happens to your theory when the 4870X2 comes out?

my theory is based on current market

the op said he was buying soon

in that respect if he waits until the 4870x2 comes out - then he may as well wait for the next gen of cards and so on

gfx changes too much to apply a theory that applies to all

yeah, i think in 3 weeks the 4870x2 out and a few week after that maybe the gtx 55mn it is never ending

lol... if the previews are to be believed (and they are pretty consistent), the 4870X2 kills the 280GTX (albeit 1680 and above res), so to me it is certainly worth taking into account, where as the 55nm is 'probably' only going to add a max of 10% performance gain, and maybe even go up in price (if it goes down, great!)

So current market in a few weeks even if Nvidia did release a new card would be ATI = topdog. So your theory still won't stand for the forseeable future (unless Nvidia have some sli combo, or unreleased card up their sleeves that no one knows about!!!)

I realise where your coming from, but it really was a throwaway comment.

Nice,

These users run intel chipset mobos's

Fact is shocky "no renting " of cards gets you in gear...

I quashed you on the RMA.

Your posts are so opaque...

Not all intel chipsets will make the most out of crossfire, 16x/4x is a waste of time due the the performance hit, all you did in that other thread was display ignorance, look up the distance selling regulations and start reading.

screw fanboy arguments/accusations.

I haven't owned an ATI card since ATI9800 pro, owned Nvidias for years, so arguably could be labelled a Nvidia fanboy by some narrow minded people. But damn it, I game and when I see the 4870x2 test results all I can say is wow. I have to get one and will problably be cheaper than 280GTX too.

All I can say is: it's win win for me

P45, x38 x 48 who dosn't run them?

You stated the 7 day rule for returns,

I told you you were incorrect.

Deal with it.

If you had read the distance selling act then why spout nonsense about 7 days?

Its this very reason why I destroyed with facts.

Get the GTx280, for that price its good
Compared to how much they were selling before sure, but its still not a good buy when you factor in the 4870 512MB which is £100 less for close performance.

Id suggest a wait to see the price of the 4870X2 coming in August if you want the best.

.

You really are odd, does this change the point I was making, no. This doesnt matter. Also, what about the P35, P975, P965 chipset? because nobody uses them anymore do they. :)

well maybe you need to read up since the 4870x2 is rumoured to be released @ $500 (£250) so that is cheaper than the £270 you need to fork out for the Leadtek 280GTX, not to mention the performance gap.

check out Guru3D http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-4870-x2-preview/

Sure maybe after a month or two, besides it's not out yet and GTX280 prices will continue to drop, but if it is priced lower then then a GTX280 then i'll be buying one for sure. :)
