Would these have killed me? (spiders)

Still looks like a wolf to me.

as in to protect your nuts? :p

No, as in to transport crickets :D

huh cool.

They are fascinating things. They have bits on them of which nobody so far knows the function :)

looks like a wolf spider to me, fairly common but can reach 7-8 cm.

Last picture doesn't look like a wolf spider to me (and neither does the pic in your post). Lycosids have a different eye arrangement. They have two eyes on the top of their carapace. It looks like a Tegenaria species.

There are no poisonous spiders in the UK, IIRC.

Try coming to my country... now that's a place for spiders. ;)

ive got 2 corn snakes, they are so cool, and all spiders can kill human, just the Uk ones fangs arnt tough enought to bite us

Corn snakes are indeed cool, but what you said about spiders is rubbish. Total urban myth.

If you think that UK spiders fangs aren't tough enough. Annoy a house spider and you'll most likely find out. They can easily bite through human skin :)

Feel scared to leave my windows open at night now. Sod the bloomin burgulars, what about one of those creeping into yer room, and up your legs and then laying eggs in yer ears! :eek :o

There are a number of reported spider bites in he UK each year from domestic spiders.

I don't think there have been any reported deaths from UK bites, at least not directly attributed to the venom/allergic reactions.

However, false widows are one such spider that can give a nasty bite, and cause some damage!

See Natural History Museum lists below:
