spinlock is annoying. also, if you are training at home i would advise against it completely.
get a proper olympic bar and some proper weights.

Ok, thanks for the advice.

There is quite a few available - What sort of length should I be getting? They seem to range from 5' to 7' - I assume a straight one not one of those EzCurl?

Bah, was just about to put everything together and it seems the fitness superstore shop website has gone **** up :(

Edit : Right , now it seems to be working again.

Want to go for the following :

http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk..._olympic_bench_with_leg_developer/8869_p.html (Mainly due to reason this is foldable) - £139.99
http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk...dypower_145kg_olympic_weight_set_/8930_p.html - £249.00
2 of :http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/olympic_bars/bodypower_olympic_dumbbell_handle_x1/3208_p.html - £65.98

And I think that's all I need :)

How can they justify £65 for a pair... crazy.

Yeah, does seem like quite a lot

Unfortunately their delivery terms don't seem to be great :( ...so I'm trying to see if anyone else has the same bits for a similar price that will be able to give me a fixed date / saturday delivery or guaranteed before a certain time as no one is ever in otherwise!

They have a store just outside the M25 if you're able to pick the bits up mate.

Nice selection of kit, would rather like that myself but it costs more than 1 years gym membership! Still, nice stuff.

The bits arrived today, damn that was difficult to get upstairs , I'm knackered.

Looks like they managed to miss out the olympic bar though :( I guess this should come as 1 part and isn't screwed together or anything? Will have to get on the phone to them on Monday morning :(

It would surely have worked out cheaper to use a gym? I think it's about £400/year for my one (I get student rates so it's much cheaper), but that includes all classes, squash and badminton, swimming and the sauna/spa areas throughout the leisure centre.

looking at getting fitter stronger but ruling out contemporary methods is a sure sign of failure. I wanna get a great body without eating lean six times a day and working my **** off in the weights room, but it aint gonna happen. There are ways to do it outside of a gym or even home weights but it requires twice the dedication and ingenuity.

Spend a few weeks faffing about with rucksacks full of water jugs and you'll be beging for that gym membership. Remember you wont get big ams/chest by doing 100 press ups or chins, you get big by being able to do 10 of em with your mate on your back!
