They should have made the best of (insert console here) an exclusive instead of a multi-platform game.

Thats absolute rubbish, Resi 5 ahead of GoW 2 for 3rd person shooter? YOU CAN'T MOVE AND AIM FOR GODS SAKE. I swear people are just being sold by the brand name.

WTF? How did Resident Evil 4, I mean 5 get rated so high?

It's more rehashed than Football games... http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/244701.html

It looked pretty horrible at the E3 live demo. Gameplay Looked just like Resi 4. The trailer they showed looked phenomenal though. I still have hope for Resi 5. They're showing an updated version of it in a few weeks, with new controls and all.

Killzone 2 looks waaaay more interesting than Resident Evil 5, which shouldn't have got best PS3 game at all. Whatever awards Resistance 2 got, Killzone should've gotten too. Killzone's TF2-esque multiplayer gameplay with complete stat-tracking looked miles ahead of R2's.

People fawn far too much over RE5 for my liking, especially after the shockingly abysmal, boring and wooden gameplay trailer.

The over the shoulder view when aiming.

There are literally thousands of games that have done this before RE4.

Look at all the Gears fans getting their knickers in a twist because the sequel to a superior game is getting the awards.

EDIT: I love how the reasoning is "OMG it's just like the last one" too. Irony, anyone?

Resi 4 did it the best. Cliffy B said it in a interview, not me.

anyway........................

I don't care if CliffyB made GoW but he's a silly douche if he even remotely thinks RE4 had the best aiming system :p You can't even move while aiming, and it's a single-stick tank-control solution - taken straight from Resident Evil, a game that launched 12 years ago. It's a control scheme designed for D-pads, not twin analog sticks.

How is it irony? Gears 2 has added new features, Resi 5 is practically identical but in a different location and character model, nearly everything is the same.

One stick movement should also be banned from games of this type too.

The reason you can't move while shooting in Resident Evil 4/5 is a design decision. Its suppose to add tension to the gameplay. Don't give up hope though, they're changing the controls and hinted to being able to run and gun.

I saw the article where the design lead actually said they were taking inspiration from Gears of War (full circle here btw) and Call of Duty 4, and to 'expect surprises' regarding the control scheme for the full game.

If the control scheme changes, especially into a left stick for movement and right stick for camera scheme, then that's the majority of my criticism levelled at the game gone.
