Oh yes of course, haven't seen anything of that myself. I've only seen screenshots of SF4 and thought it looked poor, I've never been a fan of 2D fighting games though.

I've heard MK vs DC is on the same level as SF4 as in terms of fun. I know the grew over at GiantBomb couldn't stop plaing MK vs DC at E3, they though it was awesome.
You realize GoW1 had that ?
Some might say that GOW2's horde mode trumps the mere addition of a coop mode in RE5 that has been standard to the Gears of War series for some time now.
The gears of war "series" so far consists of ONE game, and ONE as yet unfinished and unreleased game.
Resident evil 4 is widely regarded as one of the best if not THE best game of all time.
Gears of war.................. isnt.
Resident evil 5 is the sequel to one of the best games of all time and is possibly the most anticipated game of all time.
Gears of war 2 is gears of war with some bits tacked on.
Even if Resi 5 is simply the exact same game but with the number 4 crossed out and the number 5 written on in red marker pen, it will still be better than Gears of war, and its as yet unreleased sequel.

Its unfair to say which game is going to be better untill you have played and completed both. I am looking forward to Gears 2 more than Resi 5 right now. I hope they show some more Resi 5 gameplay soon.

To me RE games are a tedious as driving a milk float around the Nordschleife, good games yes but boring, GoW brought a new type of game to the table as did RE.
I don't have time for condescending posts from people who claim to have played unreleased games and portrays their uninformed, uneducated guesses as gospel based in concrete fact. Go take it elsewhere - Neogaf or Gamefaqs or something. We are getting tired of this.

Gears of War I would say was one of the best games of this generation, and possibly one of the best third person shooters of all time.
Resident evil 4, To resident evil fans, if you look around, it's highly criticized, and rightly so. So for the actual fans to look down their nose at the sequel, I cant see how it can be deemed by the rest of the world as THE best game of all time.

Wtf is all this hate for RE5? And directly comparing it to GoW2? RE5 isn't supposed to be a simple fast paced action 3rd person shooter like GoW2 is so whining about things like not being able to shoot and run at the same time is retarded. And whining because it uses the same mechanics as RE4? Comparing it to the previous game saying it's too similar? Wtf? Like someone said you could do that for basically any game franchise.

I don't care if CliffyB made GoW but he's a silly douche if he even remotely thinks RE4 had the best aiming systemYou can't even move while aiming, and it's a single-stick tank-control solution - taken straight from Resident Evil, a game that launched 12 years ago. It's a control scheme designed for D-pads, not twin analog sticks.
Yet makes the gameplay of a survival horror ten times better. Can you imagine how easy RE games would be if you could bunny hop and spray and pray while running around in little circles around your enemies. I love the control system of RE games and i think RE4 evolved it perfectly into a world without a fixed camera.
I watched heaps of footage thanks to the great coverage on LIVE! and watched a lot of games. Considering I have the full collection of RE games, even the crap light gun ones. I would say i am quite a big fan. (I even enjoyed the movies) That said i was hugely disappointed with RE5. They could have called it "Rambo gone A.W.O.L in Congo" and no one would even know it was a RE game by looking at it.
RE4 was a superb game on it's own, just as DMC was a superb game on it's own but it's not Resident Evil. Just like RE5. Resident Evil games to me are not about Falcon Punches and how many weapons you can get but more about the story, getting immersed in all the little notes left by people through the game, doing the crazy puzzles and eventually figuring out whats it all for and more importantly the zombies and bio weapons. Things like that gave a huge feeling of satisfaction. In a nutshell the RE games of old were a lot more tactical and required the user to think more. RE4 was more of a action game where using your gun rather then your brain got you through it.

And that excuse for not developing proper controls is the best ever
Its not supposed to be simple?? So stuff like being able to move and shoot a zombie in the head (kind of a feature of every zombie film ever) would make it simple?

Clearly I didn't mean it in that way and you know it. GoW is just a pure fast paced action game, not much else. RE has always mostly been about the story, atmosphere, puzzles and characters... and is slower paced...etc.
Yes maybe RE is classed as a 3rd person shooter but that doesn't mean it should be judged purely on that aspect of the game alone. What are you supposed to do just ignore everything else in the game apart from the 3rd person shooting part? Don't be ridiculous. They're entirely different games. RE is a different style and GoW style controls wouldn't suit it. And even if the GoW 3rd person shooting mechanics and controls are better that doesn't make it a better game.

Im surprised that there's so much hate on res 5? is it because it beat Gears 2 for best 3rd person shooter? or is that we have all played both games so we can judge from our own experience rather than a few hands on and vids on gametrailers 
It was a surprise that it beat out Gears as R5 i would thought it was more in the survival horror genre, but i guess you shoot in the third person so i guess it qualifies. Gears of War 1 need more epic boss battles that you would remember and a good story. Gears was all about the non stop kick ass combat, hopefuly Gears 2 has more depth to it. Resident Evil 4 is no doubt in my top 10 list of greatest games ever created.
