1/4 Mile drags...

Only if you bolted a rocket to it I suspect. With a normal driver a standard newage Impreza STI will get about 13.5-14.0s . At the terminal velocity of about 95-10mph, 4-wheel drive losses are still pretty low. I would expect yours to be closer to about 15-15.5?

I'm heading out in a bit but there is a youtube video of someone running at Santa Pod and getting 14s (probs mid 14s) - when I get back I'll dig it out and show you. I'm pretty certain it's standard as well.

sub 12s is approaching 1 litre sports bike territory so would be an amazingly fast car. Sub 15 must be around 'quick' for a road car.

I guess it depends on what you think is quick. 15secs is a time virtually any so called hot/warm hatch could do these days. ~14secs and less are the times of standard hot hatches and the lower powered Scooby/Evos. ~13secs and less should be achieveable with around 300bhp (dependant on weight) and over and times of Scooby/Evos.

It is possible (not for me as Im rubbish at launching) for my car (200Sx) to do a high 12s run, judging by the results similarly tuned cars (330bhp) have achieved at Santa Pod and Shakespeare. My car is reasonably quick but not that quick.

As standard my car can do one in 14 seconds I think (if memory serves) - few mods can see it in to the mid to low 13's :) - and thats 0-60 in 7 seconds flat.

Doubt it. I think more high 15's considering a DC5 Type R/Impreza WRX can do them in around 14s.

EDIT: Ahh here we go for you curious people - http://www.torquestats.com/index.php?pid=mph250

(not sure how accurate it is)

My Fury (640kg, 175bhp) has managed a 13.387 @ 100mph. A few friends times from the same event:

Westfield with ~350bhp: 11.760 @ 120.65mph
Striker with ZX9R: 13.426 @ 99mph
Dax Rush with ~250bhp: 13.2 @104mph

The tarmac wasnt the greatest as it was an old airfield. I am sure I could go a little quicker given some more practice..

Hmm i really dont think that... A mk1 clio with 210/220hp and it was stripped so only weigted about 860kg did it in low 13's... Thats 0 to 60 in around 5 and a half seconds.

Id say yours would do it low/mid 15's

Lotus Elise S2 Sport 190 12.8s 106mph

Impressive (if it's true, I'm not sure what the 1/4 mile time it to be honest)

Anything under 14 seconds is properly fast in my book. If I can get the old girl down to 14 without destroying the clutch I'll be happy.

Threads like this make me smug about riding a motorbike :D . £2000-2500 of bike will get you 12secs 1/4 mile, 0-60 in about 3.5secs and 0-100 in about 7secs.

Wow, sounds great! I want one!

Oh quick question before i go out and buy one - How well do they hold up in accidents?

;):p

What has that got to do with how fast they can do a 1/4 mile?

I drive a car/van every day of my life and I still wouldn't give up my bike for anything.

Where'd you find that figure?

Mine was running 209hp...timed the 0-60 at 4.5 secs but didn't think it *** crack into the 12's

...whats considered a "good" time?

Obviously theres going to be "Quick" but for a modified road car example, what can be expected to be a 'good' time?

Private, bone stock, recently delivered US spec GT-R: 11.510 @ 124.120

Haltech GT-R ran 11.1 @ 124 mph with no mods apart from their ECU.

Koenigsegg CCR, depends on the slips you see but that can be a sub 10 second car, trapping at ~ 140. That is rapid.

997TT: 11.6 seconds @ 118.5

R8: 12.8 seconds @ 110.2

Somebody got an unfettled ZO6 in to the late 10s. Twice.

So many variables though, it's a difficult benchmark. I'd say anything sub 13 that could be used comfortably as a daily is fast.

It's an awesome bit of kit - and all home made.

When you see car times you can see why you can never compare bikes and cars from a standing start as it's where bikes are just totally different.. Most litre bikes are pretty much in the same ball park as a Veyron (low 10s), and with a expert rider (and suspension strapped) some stock bikes can get under 10.

Difference is bikes are hard to launch and need a lot more skill than latest cars with all the launch computers etc...

I consider anything under 12s as a supercar... it's a pretty exclusive club for cars, but for bikes most large bore bikes these days better 12.
