Actually you can, if you want you can learn the maths and go out and do the experiments that the Greeks and others did to prove it's round.

My point was, and I probably didn't put it across very well, that it is such a well known and easily shown fact that anyone could prove it with the right equipment, as such our acceptance of what we are told to be true on this matter is more than enough.
