How many people quit AoC then?

I really wanted to like this game, but to many things messed it up.

Female attack speed was 33 percent slower than a males because they didn't account for the extra frames of animation - opps considering I made a female assasin. They wrecked Necromancers moments after I started to level one, Dark Templars also aren't exactly awesome.

3 Classes I like I couldn't really use because of one thing or another, constantly client bugs like memory leaks, and tons of other things... A real shame TBH.

Well 2 out of those 3 are fixed DT's still suck though =P

AoC flopped because it had no content, even in week 1 the mentals who had already gotten to lvl80 told us this and were largely ignored.. but a few more weeks and more and more people getting up there for it to really hit home that Funcom had done nothing but lie in video after video leading upto release. Balance problems, someones crap pc crashing etc is irrelevant...

Trying to lump people like Mythic in with that sort of behaviour just because they happen to be releasing a game in the same genre isn't remotely fair.

To be fair wow on release had no end game content except Molten Core, and it took 10 months to release BWL and the Battlegrounds and a lot of the high end quests were broken or bugged. To expect a new mmo to have everything is unrealistic, and damn near impossible. But having said that it didnt float my boat.

Only decent fantasy mmo since wow has been LOTRO

Thats true, but WoW you had a lot of things to do before raiding, AoC there is not much to do as gear doesn't matter so you don't need to spend time in dungeons and progress. In WoW you couldn't just go into molten core once you hit 60, but in AoC my guild went raiding straight away and the only thing that stopped us was bugs not challenging content/need for better gear, so the sense of progress and character development was non existent.

I am still playing, but boredom is creeping in or maybe it is fusteration. When are they putting the PvP system in!!?? Anyway, the grind is getting on my nerves, even with the quests. Even crafting/tradeskills have a grind!! I am a lvl 34 Necromancer on the US server Deathwhisper. Warhammer has cought my eye, PvP focused is a good thing. Is the PvP/sieging in AoC worth this grind fest??

As with most online games they all get boring without a decent group of people to play with, sadly none are really worth it at end game with the exception of Dark Age of Camelot if you ask me.

PvP in every other MMORPG has been awful, I've given up on them as they always fail to get even close to the outragous claims they make during pre-launch interviews etc.

Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima online, no other online game has come close to those two for me. Age of Conan could have been good but they released it far too early and sadly I've noticed an alarming increase in the number of l33t people playing already. I'd still be playing, but real life demands more attention these days and frankly it's siege/pvp is a very mixed bag.

I was thinking about getting this, it looks stunning, but after reading a lot of poor feedback i might just give it a miss, i cant even get into WoW that much atm. I thought I could have got into this a lot better aswell.

Lasted a week and quit.
Had such high hopes for AoC, Vanguard, LOTRO, they all failed me. I wanted to like them, really.

*goes back to his trusty WoW*

Got to level 80, defended our BK a few times, did 1 single raid...that was enough for us.

Now anxiously awaiting Warhammer Online :)
