All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Can't see it being true, life is never that good to me. :D

hahaha - thats true for me too

From the way it is written, it seems like it's an employee who won't be there for much longer.

To be fair he does say he is drunk - which after the hard work put into any deal and with Mark Hughes also, it could well be true, but I do take your point the language isnt brilliant

Thaksin should never have been able to take over in the first place - thats the real issue behind it, its disgusting that the government and EPL allowed the take over to happen

Mark Hughes for Fergie's No 2? Hahahaha never going to happen, it would apart from anything else be a step down for MH, and we need a fluent Portueguese speaker according to reports (which makes sense)

I actually wasn't commenting on his use of English but the area's he is writing about and both the tone and timing of the post.

Im not sure what you mean about the "area" he is writting about, but if you mean legal wise/behind the scenes, you could be right - the tone is possibly out of frustration/drunkenness but sure I cant comment on timing as I havent seen the original

Could well be complete BS - I guess we will know soon enough

Im surprised MH hasnt said anything about the sale of the players though....that might be an indicator....or not

The recent statement from Parry indicates quite plainly that since Villa stated the 18m price tag, we've done nothing but mess around with Villa and Barry personally in an attempt at trying to get them to lower the price.

In fairness, this is probably what goes on all the time in the trasnfer market, but its a shame that we've let Barry hang so much and put himself at odds with the Villa fans and team mates, when knowing for so long we've not had the stated cash for him.

The old Liverpool wouldn't have done this. We used to handle the transfers with a bit of dignity, but now it seems we're just like the other lot.

Its also a real shame about city :(

I thought under Sven they looked really good, playing nice football and looking stronger. They where a few quality players away from being really good.

...and to think, we were close to selling the club to that man *shivers*

no where would they fit in pertov on left or dos santos?
elano or modric?

You do know that a football team is more than just 11 players? We still haven't got a natural left winger. Petrov is a great player who can cross extremely well.

I know for certain if I was a Spurs striker I would love to have Bentley and Petrov providing the crosses.

Elano went missing for half the season last year. Sort of player I imagine shines bright when the team is performing but needs to roll his sleeves up when the team is under performing. Hope he does well this year as I want to put him in my fantasy team :D

Didn't help playing him a right back for a few games towards the end of the season. The most creative right back you'll see mind you :D

The transfer has probably gone on a bit too long (and been in the public eye a little too much) but it's not all that different from the usual negotiations. Selling club sets price above what they are willing to accept/bidding club opens with bid below their maximum offer, they negotiate to a price somewhere in the middle.

Liverpool seem to have hit a case where by £18m, Villa actually mean £18m, something I'm sure they didn't expect.

He'll probably end up staying after all this speculation. Everyone thought the transfer window would be crazy with huge changes including Ronaldo, Adebayor, Eto, Villa, Berbatov all moving, but none have gone yet. I still think 1 or 2 might though
