Virgin Media 10mb uopgrade?

I'm sure Trax is well aware of the trials and probably has a better understanding of the technology than any of us. The point was 20mb users won't be getting a free upgrade to 50mb anytime soon. Instead it'll be a new product introduced at a higher price - £47pm is the figure that's been banded around.
 
AAaaarrrggghhhh....
I knew this would happen...I had a 'window of opportunity' and connected in my new modem...no problem, very simple. Had to then ring Virgin to get 'Activated'...here we go...
My 1st 'phone call...problems with broadband connections the 'adviser' says...will ring me back after 15 minutes...yeah right...naturally no call back.
2nd 'phone call...still problems at the Virgin end apparently, but should be OK after 1 hour I'm told.
3rd 'phone call...lots of apologies, but the system has been down for some time (since 23:00hrs yesterday)...but will be OK by 18:00hrs...
4th 'phone call...system is still down...they have no idea when it will come up online again...
I then reconnected to broadband via my set-top box (which is why I can access this forum).
What a bunch of useless !"£$%&&%$££...
 
just "upgraded" to 10mb today from 2 on virgin.

but upon checking it now im only up to 4mb down and 220k up:/

it was advertised and sold as 10mb surely we dont haave to wait for an upgrade at some point over the summer for it?

If your area hasn't had the upgrade that moves broadband L customers from 4mb to 10mb then you will have to wait. If your upgrade from broadband M to broadband L was mis-sold as a move from 2mb to 10mb give them hell and try to get some money back.

Have you powered off the modem? Switch it off at the wall for few mins :)
 
Well News for the people who live in South Shields.

i also live in South Shields and i ring up VM to ask about the Upgrade and she
said the upgrade will be done by the end of August to the first week in september.

YEAH About time too
 
Cool thanks for reminding me, I'd forgotten about it. Just rebooted me modem and am getting 9881kbs down and 490kbs up. Wahoo!. I think I can even notice it on general browsing.

I was just looking yesterday and saw that pretty much the whole of the UK was done and thought they forgot about us.
