Hi,

First of all, apologies for yet another "spec-me" thread.

I'm after a motherboard to go with the following components:
It must:
  • support the hardware mentioned above
  • have at least 6 SATA II ports with at least 4 on the same RAID-enabled onboard-controller for RAID 0
  • have on-board graphics supporting Vista Aero (just so I know its recent, not necessarily going to use Vista)
  • be a fanless design
  • not have any known issues with common 3rd party cpu coolers
  • cost under £100
It would be nice (but not essential) if it:
  • had power saving features
  • could handle HD decoding using onboard graphics
ATX or mATX

The build is to be used as a 24/7-on backup storage solution.

I've not bought any of the parts mentioned at the top yet so if you think an AMD solution would be a lot better, let me know, otherwise I would prefer an Intel solution as my other PC's are Intel and its useful to be able to test parts in other machines.

G45's graphics are meant to be a lot better than G33's, so it may be worth waiting for it.

I've had a closer look at the board you linked me to. It seems to do everything I want. Only problem I can see so far is a shortage of fan headers. I don't know if its a trend on mATX boards to have only 2.

I think in total I'll have 5 fans I'll need to connect up. Is there an ATX version of this board with the full set of fan headers?

Looks like the new Gigabyte G45 board is not an option for me as its only got 5 SATA ports, I need 6.

Intel's G45 board has 6 though and 3 fan headers to Gigabyte's 2.
