Is my car worth anything any more?

My 1995 golf has just ticked over 220,000 :)
Typical German reliability, although for a Golf I guess that's better than average. My old man's A6 kicked the bucket quite spectacularly a few weeks back, having just ticked over 276,000. While resale value will take a hit, 100k is nothing to a well looked-after modern car.

What happened to it?

My old peugot (which was replaced last week) had 147k on the clock, albeit diesel, never had one engine problem, never needed a new clutch (as far as i remember anyways) absolute workhorse, was gutted when i handed it over lol

I dont see why people get so worried about 100k mileage cars, if im buying a car i'd rather buy a car with 100k and FSH over a 50k with no history at all.
Yep nothing like a nice low milage 30k mile car town driven car with one woman driver... oh wait

:)

Good QUALITY is the key.

Fixed...

435k km on our rolla still drives...
Only ever replaced something when broke, the oil now hasn't been changed in ages... Same for pretty much everything else. Yet it's being trashed once in awhile and driven quite a bit still...

On the other side our citroen C5 has 183k now and is a few k past it's ''planned service'', no problems so far but my dad plans being a cheapskate again and only replacing things when they break down, ''regular service'' is his opinion is a waste of money.

Carlsberg don't make engines, but if they did ....
