Toughest game you've ever played ?

Homeworld2 Pre 1.2 patch, god knows but i've only managed to beat mission three once and i have not been able to recreate it without the official patch.

As above ninja gaiden games are a bit tough on master ninja but i'm working my way through the second one right now on that difficulty.

But does anyone remember Hostile Waters? That had some pretty challenging levels, don't think i have beaten it yet, may have to reinstall.

I can assure you, the original and its stand alone expansion were much tougher :D

The original wasn't just hard, it punched you in the balls for every mistake you made :(

For number 2 my strategy was mainly shoot everyone with the sniper :p

gt5 prologue (ps3 game) getting all golds just seemed impossible for me with a joypad.
i managed all golds but 2 races but then i started playing forza and never went back to it as i didnt feel it was worth the effort.

Airwolf on the Speccy. That was crazy hard.

More recently I would say Far Cry - especially the Volcano level near the end.

Loads on the C64 / Arcade:

Airwolf (as already mentioned)
IK+ (after a few belts it was a nightmare)
Ghosts n Goblins (got damn far but never finished it)
Bubble Bobble (100 levels, got to the end and the last guy was evil)
Ninja Gaiden (so hard it could make you cry - recently completed it on Ninja Dog level!)

For me had to be Neverhood, got given it when I was like 13-14 was solid as hell, took me till I was 18 to finished the whole game.

Was only difficult because it required logical thinking, I remember it took me week just to get past a door where you had to make the water door bell mimic another sounds.

Ninja Gaiden 2. The boss fight in your home village. I have died so many times I've lost count and have never played it since :(

Adams Family on the MegaDrive, that game is seriously hard!

They don't make hard games like that very often any more, most games nowadays tend to be a little easy.

The Last V8 on the C64, it was frustrating as hell, but had to keep playing just to listen to the Rob Hubbard soundtrack.
