Microsoft Repairing or Replacing Consoles ?

8 weeks? Who told you that? I'd be extremely surprised. Even the auto email that goes out from MS states that it may take between two and three weeks.
 
Had mine repaired recently took eight days from collection to return so i was more than happy with the service. It had the mobo and drive replaced but it does seem a little noisier than it used to be.
 
Ditto the above. Was collected on a Tuesday and back the following Wednesday. Same console returned but with a new motherboard and DVD drive.
 
Mine was about 2 years old. Once day just stopped working, no picture just sound.

I called up and they picked it up, replaced the motherboard and sent it back. Been fine since :)

A relative of mine sent his and got it back 12 days later.
This was at the start of this month so i dont no how they can tell you 8 weeks.
Mine went back last year when they were very busy and it only took 14 days.
 
Hmm that was a bit quick.

Device shipped to customer - Your console has been repaired or replaced. We are shipping it back to you.

Wonder if they figured out it's been opened... :(
 
Mine hasnt got any red lights but shows no picture. and only sound.

Recon if i sent mine off saying it had red rings they'd fix it ?
 
have you tried it on other tv's?/other cables? Is the lead set to HD (switch on the end), when you have it set to HD on an SD tv it won't display anything I believe.
 
mine came back with a letter saying they had replaced the console and that the serial number was now different so that i should up date that on there website.

mine was a very sudden death after a session on forza2. i guess it depends on the internal fault.
 
My console had the same problem last week, sound but no picture. After restarting it a few times I got 3 red lights.

I returned my 3rd Console last Tuesday and they dispatched a replacement yesterday. Only got 2 months waranty left so fingers crossed this one lasts a bit longer.

Is it likely that a replacement console will have HDMI?

Ok so i've submitted my "Repair Request" for my 360 & i am stuck on what i have to do next, lol :confused:

I thought it was a simple process, they send you a box & you send it back in it!

But ups is involved...

I received an electronic address label email of which i believe i have to print out & stick on my own packaging but then what do i do? obviously i have to send it via ups to them but do i have to pay anything when i request a pick up from UPS?

Any detailed help from people who have sent theirs back would be much appreciated :)
