How quickly can you loose weight?

Lol, losing weight is very easy.
I'm one month into my diet and i'm losing it slowly, but surely.
First thing is to cut out all the junk in your diet, no more takeaways, soda or fatty food, when u feel hungry, grab a piece of fruit etc.
Go to the gym/do a run every other day.
You don't need to follow a specific diet, losing weight isn't rocket science, it's all in the mind.

Eh?
DO set targets but DO make them realistic and achievable!

For me, setting targets never worked and I just kept being dissapointed :( though I was trying to gain weight, but principal is the same. If you start setting targets for me it feels like work instead of for fun. But each their own, if one way doesn't work try another.

skipping dessert and only drinking twice a week is hardly starvation :)

Loads of proplr skip breakfast too, it's not ideal but again, he's not going to kick into starvation mode considering his lunch, dinner and beers.

My suggestion - put breakfast back in, a snack of one piece of fruit morning and afternoon, reduce all portion sizes, stop beer all together (diet coke for you - hey at least you can drive) and do some exercise, even if it's just walking 30 minutes a day.

then the goals you were setting were terrible. it didnt feel like fun to you because you werent reaching your targets, if you would have been, you would have been much happier and would have seen much better results.

Yes, because I've made such a big deal over it in the past.

I was joking, you get over it.

it was done much earlier than your post, quite why people on this forum feel the need to correct every bloody typo i dont know!

Back, knees, hair. Always an excuse to not exercise. Get running fatty.

I don't mind exercise, i just don't like running, I'd much rather go on my bike. Also another excuse for not running is my flat feet, a doctor actually advised me not to run too much, as all the pressure will travel from my feet to my ankles and knees which would cause me problems in later life. Especially with my 200lbs crashing down on them. Lance armstrong the cycling bloke he has a resting heart beat of under 40, and he did a marathon once, and he said it was the hardest thing he's ever done and would never do it again! So you don't have to run to get fit!

The only way i know of a sure way to lose weight is to do cardio cardio cardio.

Eat regular, and go for a run every other day if you can.

This way you can lose weight and feel great...

Try and do some other non-way then you will feel like dog and probably not have anything happen to you

Eating less won't get you fit either. You say you like cycling, shut down the computer and off you go then.

burn more calories than you take in.

calories out > calories in. Whether you do it by food or cardio, it works.
Unless you've got big bones, or thyroid problems, or flat feet, or slownum digestivitus, or cantbee botherosis...

To lose weight, and keep it off, you need to lose it slowly and gradually and without resorting to stupid fads and things that you CANNOT KEEP UP IN THE LONG RUN.

Breakfast is VITAL, it prevents your body from going into starvation mode after being unconscious for 7+ hours. It boosts your metabolism, which leads to more calories being burned which leads to you losing weight.

Exercise is VITAL, if you don't exercise regularly, even if it's just a brisk 20 min. walk once a day, you risk much MUCH worse things that being a fat *******.

Eating the right food is vital. Fresh fruit and veg, lay off the cooked meats (esp. red meat) drink more water and/or weakly diluted fruit juice (again fresh, not Robinsons).

2 stone in one month is WAY too much - you need to change your diet PERMANENTLY, not just TEMPORARILY, otherwise the weight will come back, and be harder to shift the next time.

liposuction.

Probably posted in jest.
However liposuction is only really any use to "sculpt" your body.
As a way of removing an amount of fat this is not the way to go as your body actually goes into shock and the procedure could kill you (if you were able to find some fly-by-night that would actually use this procedure to remove a lot of fat).

It's raining though, i have a huge tendency to fall of in the rain because i don't go slower round corners. Although I'm not running on slicks anymore, i was forced to change them when they went down to the canvas :(

I might go out after dinner if its dried up a bit :) I'll plan my route on goggle earth :D
