Because we're trying not to get done over in the market like we have in the past.

Doesn't help that half the payers we've come to agreement with Spurs have offered them more money. Still we came close to doing a Leeds in search of joining the big 4, and now it's their turn. We've cut our wage ceiling a lot.

Edit - just realised how bitter that sounds. It's annoying that clubs are out bidding us, but I'm happy that the club is now being run as more of a business.

Newcastle agree to sell Shola Ameobi to Ipswich for £2.5m. That's a reasonable fee.

Zenit look to have accepted that Arshavin is not interesting anyone at 24 million, and are willing to lower their asking price.

Perhaps Spurs will go back in for him?
 
Oh yes, wow they've made some good signings. Where do you lot keep up to date with overseas transfers? I tend to be fairly out of the loop until the new FM each year.

Yes prob just for that player But newcastle pay silly wages reason owen went to newcastle
he is on £103,000-a-week wages no one at spurs are near that

Gutierrez has only just been given clearence and the coloccini deal was abit drawn out so that makes it look like signing players was last minute but i think there will be a few more incoming and they probably will be last minute for real (31st 11:59PM) :p:D .

In the past spurs didnt pay silly wages out but i bet if they sign a few top quality players they will be paying out high wages .
