All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

We've (Stoke) signed the two Faye's today, from Newcastle and Charlton. The Charlton Faye seems to be a risk after reading Charlton fans comments on him, however if anyone can turn a career around its Pulis.

Really chuffed about signing Faye from Newcastle, just what we needed, an experienced head to play alongside Shawcross. £2.25 mil.

Any Newcastle fans care to pass comment on our new signing?

Claudio Pizarro has gone on loan to Werder Bremen for the season.

Portsmouth have also loaned Jerome Thomas from Charlton for the season

Julio Baptista has signed for AS Roma for 9m euros

gutted that Faye is off, he was solid, cacrapa would have been better to shift

We have a small squad as it is, let alone letting a 1st choice CB go, I'm really not happy about that

On the other hand FINALLY we have the registration and signing of our two argie players:)

Really happy about this. If he stays fit he will be an excellent addition to our team.

Why on earth are Blackburn signing Robbie Fowler?

i think Blackburn might be surprise relegation candidates this season
signing Paul Robinson, and possibly that league one player, now Robbie Fowler
and Ince is unproven

Bolton used to be an established premiership team and look what happened to them so its not impossible

Andrei Arshavin's on-off summer move to Tottenham could yet go ahead after Zenit St Petersburg claimed they have lowered their price for the forward.
However, Zenit sporting director Konstantin Sarsaniya said: "Zenit have decided to reduce the asking price.

"Exactly how much I cannot say as the talks were with the president - but there are only small differences left."

It is thought this weekend could be crucial if the deal is to go ahead, with Spurs as yet unsure of the veracity of Sarsaniya's comments, BBC Sport understands.

The Londoners have long been keen on signing Arshavin, who himself is desperate to make the move after claiming to have spoken with Spurs boss Juande Ramos directly, but were put off by valuation in excess of £20m.

Tbh he should cost 12mill max

I don't think that would surprise anyone. A lot of the Sky Sports panel have them tipped as relegation candidates too.

Surprised we let him go tbh. He makes the odd error but is pretty solid imo. We now have Coloccini and Taylor, good partnership in prospect but no cover whatsoever.

My prediction 12th

Cant see why we let defenders go...

We cant afford that at all...

Glad we bought Collocini, even though he will probably end up being rubbish.

I dont expect anything with Newcastle anymore, even if we signed a world class player he'd end up being rubbish for us, I'd rather just see 5-10games in the season how they perform.

Glad we sold Ameobi, pure rubbish... Faye was alright, cant really afford to give away defenders, but at the end of the day he wasnt fantastic was he? Who else.. may as well get rid of Geremi, his dead ball ability his crap and he cant run faster than a crt monitor.

Im convinced more players will be coming in, otherwise we are in it head deep this season...

Just hope Keegan is pulling more strings than them other 2 idiots when it comes to signing players

(Just your usual happy Newcastle fan here, Hello!)

Agree, tbh im not really bothered that Ashley has tightened the purse strings. Will be beneficial in the long term but he has gotta change his expectations accordingly. By not spending silly money and basically giving players away you would think he would be happy with 10-12th but he wants 5-6th! It just aint gonna happen

I hope this is just part of a long term plan, because at the end of the day we need a good few solid seasons mid table before we can go further, unless we have a fluke of a year...

We are just not class anymore and we havent been since 2003 or whatever and even then the Premiership was as no way near the standard now, its changing so much.

I just hope we have a bit more luck because we definitely deserve a stress free season
