Did you even read my post? They've addressed those concerns and all numberplates are blurred before publishing. Regarding people, this is something they're implementing and if you're concerned about being in a photo they will remove it without question.

It was all on Radio4.

That's irrelevant. The fact is the creators have specifically stated these problems are non issues as they have been addressed.

And did you even read my post properly? I mainly said it shouldn't be allowed around residential areas, plus it should blur certain things, taking it a step further than purely number plates by adding people and other things to list that haven't been thought of yet, im sure they will come up in time.

Also its hardly much good saying they will remove stuff on request when the majority of people will never know about it, they need to take an active approach towards privacy, they really should have a team go over the images, they can put them all online first as long as they work their way through them.
 
wow some people need to jump down from their high horse occasionally.
Anything your doing is in public anyways, so if you get caught doing something you shouldn't have been, well you shouldn't be doing it in the first place!

I personally cant wait for the whole of the country to be viewable, think its an excellent idea. Will this kind of technology make its way onto satnavs, what with flash getting cheaper and constantly expanding who knows where this could lead?

There's a gang around the North West who are targeting Civic Type-R owners, breaking into their home armed with axes and bats then beating the owner whilst taking their keys then they use the car in a robbery. I'm sure this would make it easier for these certain gangs to target the vehicle they want if you're unlucky enough to have it snapped.

There's always going to be controversial aspects to advancing technology but I really don't see the usefulness of this service. A straight forward map is enough for most half witted people as it is.

Yeah, in a way i like what they're doing but at the same time i see no real use, it should be limited to town centres and places of interest, really theres no need to have it run around where people live, theres a certain level of expected privacy there and you don't know how this could be abused.
 
I know of two victims, one which had his car taken again after it was recovered and repaired. They are stealing them to use as a getaway vehicle, not stolen to order, but this technology could be used for that too.

I appreciate its only a CTR but they are fast enough for cross-town antics, handle well, can hold a good deal of loot and are common enough to slip under the radar. Same happens to Impreza owners too.
