Thailand is last place i would look for a oriential bride. There's no smoke without fire and the sterotypes are there for a reason. Almost all are after UK passport, i firmly believe that. I'd prefer china as they're more loyal or Japan (the best) as there into the same things as most geeks, Tokyo is geek heaven.

There are numerous cases in the UK where white british wives have killed their white british husbands, or have tried to kill them. As revenge for affairs, because of money problems, psychosis, and a variety of different reasons.
Would it be reasonable to look at that and say "ooh, you certainly want to think twice before you marry a white british woman!"
You're judging an entire population on a few bad stories?
Of course, I'll give it to you that a 50 year old man looking for love in thailand is in a vulnerable position - Someone earning just £20,000 is like a Bruce Wayne to most of the people he'll encounter in thailand - but if you're at a neon lit bar in downtown bangkok with Rotty talking to the pretty ladies shouting HALLO HANDSOME MAAAAN, YOU BUY DRINK, and imagining rescuing them and having a lovely bride, you're asking for trouble.

Rubbish,The vast majority of them would much rather be with their family in Isaan,than live in the UK.However if it means that by moving to the UK,they can guarantee financial security for their family,then they will do,but would much prefer you move to their village in general.

Aye, family is genuinely important to Thai people... not just the ones from the poor Isaan region, but those from the north and even the modern Thais in bangkok. They very much value the input and opinion of their parents and family in a way that westerners don't, and they feel very obligated towards them. Many of them would settle for a low-grade husband because they'll be able to tangibly thank their parents for raising them, help their little brothers and sisters to get an education etc.
Of course the status that comes from being able to wear lots of gold is a bonus, specially for the isaan lot.
If I get to 40 and single I would get some kind of Thai/Russian/Japanese.

What about the Philippines? When I were a lad Filipino wives were the popular mail-order bride of choice, these days Thai's seem to have taken that crown...
You type russian bride into google and go from there. Some of them literally just look like they want a husband, and most of them are ridiculously stunning.

Damn this thread!Filipino = Thai unfortunatly, from all the stories i've heard they are just as bad as each other. Stick to china (middling) South Korea (better) or Japan (best) for girls that are not out to take you for a ride.
