even beat em ups?!

Yes...it's just...better. D-pads feel horrible to me now. It's horrible and uncomfortable, just feels like it's outdated old crappy tech. Honestly there's basically nothing the d-pad offers over the analog stick to me anymore. The stick is just better in nearly every way, with a few minor exceptions. Combinations such as back back back are slightly easier to do at high speed with a d-pad.

Same here I really can't say I use the D pad much.. it mostly gets used to open up some kind of menu/map.

Why just green and why limited edition? If the controller is so terrible in the eyes of MS why don't they scrap the current production of 360 controllers and start on this new one in all the colours under the sun.

Would love a good d-pad here for Tony Hawks and Street Fighter. Just can't get to grips with either as analogue games.

An improved D-pad is a nice addition to an almost perfect pad. However, the colour is absolutely hideous, why on earth would they do that?

I used to have that Halo 360, it looked pretty damn nice actually, quite different from the pictures.

The least they could have done was do it in black and white versions aswell and just keep that horrible green colour as the limited edition

Hopefully these new versions will eventually replace the older versions in the SKU's, much like the DS3 is doing with the six-axis.

Then maybe it will give developers a reason to use the D-pad for something other than a short cut for switching between items/commands.

I dont know about anyone else but i can never play beat em'ups with an analogue its so difficulty to pull off long combo's. Hopefully this will be mainstream by the time Street Fighter 4 comes out.

Well thats exactly my problem, Street Fighter 2, It's playable, But not for very long atall

Doesnt look any different? Ive converted to the analogue stick anyway, provides finer control in PES imo.

the awkward position will still give you cramp no matter how good the dpad bit like analogue does on Sony consoles

The d-pad had annoyed me for a while now, sometime putting on night vision when I want claymores on COD4 for example.

This will be a good change and hopefully it will be easy to recase it in the elite colours without any problems.
