Your First Ever Game....

Zaxxon on my Brothers Atari 400 in 1982ish.

My first computer was a Speccy 48k. I can't remember the first game I played on it - probably Airwolf. However, it may have been one of the free games like Checkered Flag or Survival. For those of you too young to remember the computing powerhouse that was the Spectroum 48k, behold!!

Makes GRID look a bit rubbish, huh?

And you think Crysis is jaw-dropping? You've obviously never seen Horace Goes Skiing...

Golf game on our Acorn Electron.

Not sure if it was the first, but one of the earlier I could remember.

Some sort of driving game on my dad's spectrum 48k. Think it was called F1? Manic Miner is the one I remember most fondly though - still haven't finished it!

An indiana jones esque game on a tape deck computer in 1988. i cant remember what the computer was or the name of the game. It had an adventurer, the screen was mostly green pixels, and he climbed ladders and went through tunnels that had bats and stuff. All platform 2d of course.

Sounds like Pitfall?

Mine was probably Space Invaders, on an Atari 2600 with wood effect panels!!!!

Cant remember the exact first game but it was on my amstrad cpc-464.

The games i remember playing on it mostly were:
  • Roland on the Ropes
  • Roland in the caves
  • Sultans maze

a quick google suggests roland in the caves was released in 1984 which would make me 6 !!

Original Unreal on (I think) a k300 and a Matrox G200. Upgraded soon after to Voodoo 2 SLI and could not believe the difference - Unreal/Unreal UT in Glide - that was something to behold!
