what age was your first build?

If it were that simple these forums wouldnt exist :D

It is that simple. Sometimes it doesn't work though and that's where the difficulties arise. A toddler could screw a PC together and get it up and running. Troubleshooting is a bit more difficult though.

I was just being pedantic :P focusing mainly on the "and it works" part of your sentance hehe.

19.

I was 'on trial' at a small computer programming company. The boss said, go downstairs to the storeroom gather up the remains of any computer you find there and build your pc.

I went off and did just that (I think to this day, that was his way of 'trialling' his new employees)

18 when I saved up money before going to uni and splashed out on a silly expensive computer. IIRC I paid ~£300 for an asus geforce 3 delux gfx card.

I think I must've been 10 when I made my first computer. I was programming in BASIC for my old apple IIe way back though, probably when I was about 8...again nothing too complex...basically just IF THEN statements based on input variables.

11. I remember buying a GeForce 2 and fitting it in my parents' computer. They went berserk. They had no idea what the hell was going on. They thought I was going to kill myself.

from new parts about 15, but i used to buy cheap old base units and mash them together from 11. Local shop used to sell them for 5 quid untested (on Botosolow street, Hanley if you from stoke).

I think I would have been around 17/18, I had no real interest in PCs until my parents bought one for me and my brother to share to help us with school/uni work (for the internet and word processing stuff).
