The more I eat,the hungrier I get?

I understand that meat will give me essential amino acids, but I can get them from good vegetables

No you can't! Meat and animal produce (milk, cheese, eggs. etc) are the only source of first class protein. Vegetables are high in some of the essential amino acids your body needs and low in others. Whilst grains, legumes and fruits can provide the others.

You need to ensure your daily diet contains the following:

Whole grains - Bread, pasta, rice, tortillas, cereals.

Legumes - Peas, beans, lentils, soya products such as meat substitutes and tofu.

Fruit - Vary as much as possible.

Vegetables - As with fruit, variety is the spice of life.

You should build your meals around the whole grains, eat plenty of fruit and veg and try to get some form of dairy product included with each meal even if it's only a yoghurt for dessert or a glass of milk with your meal.

you should build your meals around meat! it's not like you not eating meat means there are more animals alive in the world, so go'n ;)

which even you don't think can replace food.

It is possible an old friend of mine had a condition where he could not eat food and lived of similar things .

My gfs dad has had most of his intestines removed and also lives of them .

I just can't understand how someone without medical reasons would want too

Eat 3-4 a day then and let us know how you get on .

I'm sorry, maybe my choice of wording was quite poor. Personally I do not think that vegetarianism is a stupid choice, but the point I was trying to make is that there are a few people who keep telling me to eat meat, and I was politely saying to people, I don't eat meat and this is one thing that I can't change just because of a thread in a forum, once again I'm sorry for the misleading language in my earlier post. I have been very impressed with the response I received from the 1st post, thank you everyone, your input has not at all gone to waste, especially not the mississipi mud pie! :D It's nice to get input from other people rather than professional doctor's etc because you get an insight from another angle, it really has helped! ;)

Mind going into the Consoles forum and teaching the children over there how to stop bickering?

Seriously though, you really shouldn't worry too much until you hit 17/18 as your body will undergo a lot of changes until then. Just stay active and eat lots (you will naturally have a very high metabolism) and when you hit 18 if you're still not happy about your body then work on it then. Doing this will save you a lot of damage in the long run as training hard at 14 is very bad for your growth and development.

thats more intense weight training though ,I can't see him coming to any harm with a set of dumbbells,press-ups etc.
You can join a gym at 16 !

Couple of questions for the OP.

1. Why are you vegetarian?

2. Why are you weighing yourself at 14.

3. Other than the dumbells you mention, what sort of other exercise do you get in a day (cycle to school ? play football? Go to the park? etc )

1. personal and religious (jain) reasons
2. everyone at school always tells me to get bigger, so I thought I'd see if they were hinting at something.
3. at home during holidays I play with my little bro cricket and football in the garden, I also do at least 10 mins of walking a day (can sometimes be 30-40) at school I do lots more: during winter we play rugby 5 times a week (although I'm not in the team i still get a game every now and again) and at school I also do some cv in the gymn, maybe an hour or two a week. I can't cycle to school, it's in west sussex (horsham) and I'm in north west london :D

Your 145cm thats probably why, you cant change it unless you get a large growth spurt, not everone is the same and i bet the people telling you are bigger, although the vegetarianism isn't helping you. If you dont mind me asking what is cv in the gym? and why is your school so far away?

It's a boarding school: christ's hospital you may have heard of it. to sum it up in four words : school for poor people. it was the first school on a program called rock school. My cardiovascular stuff in the gym involves things like the treadmill, though not too much, rowing machine, cycling machine, things like that
