The Dark Knight - **Spoiler Thread**

I went to see this movie again today and the only reason I wanted to see it both times was for Joker. I believe that the acting for Joker was amazing. Darker than I thought it would be, I had no arguements against Ledger as Joker. Role very well played.

Joker being my favorite character out of anything since I was a little girl, I wasn't dissapointed. I've never really liked Batman as a 'superhero'.

Can I just ask...Was his face mask so tight that it changed his voice? It turned weird??

Also when the 'baddies' at the end in the building have the masks on and are actually civilians...why did the snipers on the other roof not notice that the guns were strapped to their hands? Surely a sniper would have noticed this?

I got the feeling that the Joker realised Batmans true identity?

I cant remember the lines, but i do remember thinking that. And for those of you thinking he would use this and make it public:

This would have been around the time that the Joker realised that he and Batman fed off of each other. By revealing his identity it would have spoiled all the fun. This is also why he didnt want the accountant guy to reveal who he was on tv.

The joker is an intelligent man. It wouldnt be hard for him to figure out that Rachaels previous love interest and best friend was Bruce Wayne (from tabloids etc), one of the only men who could afford all of Batmans gear and is the man who dissappeared for a few years not long ago.

Great film.

Ledger truly was awesome as The Joker. In fact I'd go as far as saying that he deserves an oscar for the performance; 10/10

Only downside (I thought) was the last 15 minutes with Harvey Dent.

It's basically all been said by everyone else, all i'll say is this film is the first film in my life to live up to the hype..massive comic book reader from an early age, loved Batman Begins to pieces, the only adaption to ever get batman just right as in the comics, never thought it could be improved upon, along came Dark Knight and proved me wrong...fantastic film!

hahahaha
haahhahahhaa
HAHAHHAHAHHAAAHAHAAAAA

I just want you to know how hard I am laughing at you right now

Woooo! Yeah! Right on! Rock n Roll.

I would like to thank you for all your effort in those Hs, although I think you trailed off a bit at the end there. And yeah, thats gotta be the hardest text laughter I've ever seen.

I mean go with it man, you rule, you are kick ass.

Saw it last night and was well impressed, I really don't know how a third film could top this. The idea of Depp being the Riddler does not play well with me, I would far prefer a more unknown actor.

I was never fully convinced by Batman Begins, I just never really believed it and the gas and train sequence at the end did nothing for me at all. But I was totally enthrauled by Dark knight from start to finish, it was so much more gritty and disturbing. The Hong Kong scene was particually special as I stood next to theose buildings last year.

I haven't been too impressed with Depp's performances lately. He's a great actor just need to see him being a bit more diverse.

edit:

I'm now predicting that, if he does indeed play The Riddler, he'll play the character really similar to Charlie from Charlie & The Chocolate Factor.

Philip Hoffman I could see playing a good Penguin, he'll have a lot to live up to though as Batman Returns rates highly on my list.

With Depp on screen all I would keep thinking is "it's Jonny Depp" while with Ledger it was like they had hired a real psychotic to play the part...he was no longer Heath Ledger at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if he we saw the joker return at a later stage via cgi. After seeing that Emily CGI thing it wouldn't be too far fetched for him to have a smaller role a few years from now.

I'd be mightily impressed if, at some stage, we just saw him make a cameo appearance like the scare crow did in this one. The CGI would have to be damn realistic though.

I think they will just show the back of the Joker. Imagine Joker in a cell with 1 light on him, his back to the door. Someone looking through the little door opening things they have in prisons.
All you would see is his green hair, and him in a straight jacket.

I think thats the most we will see

There aren't many sequels that are so breathtakingly good. I think a few that probably make the list are:

The Empire Strikes Back
Terminator 2
Aliens
The Godfather Part II (not seen this myself personally but I respect what others say about it being a brilliant sequel).

Look at it this way, thousands of people got up in arms...well, got a bit moody on forums online ;) when it was revealed ledger would be the joker, we all thought the movie was doomed and look how it turned out. I say if depp is to be the riddler, give him the benefit of the doubt until he does mess it up :D

I personally don't want to see him in a batman movie...my choices of villain for the next movie would be either Bane (as in the comic, smart, cunning, ruthless...not a lumbering idiot like in batman forever or whatever it was called), maybe Harley Quinn or Penguin
