Stalker Clear Sky - Biggest dissapointment of the year?

Its hardly the worst score in the history of gaming for gods sake, it was just overhyped a bit and a some of the promised features failed to deliver, and in the end if you liked stalker you will probably like this.
 
Who takes notice of these reviews anyway, it is only 1 persons opinion also i would hardly go by what PCGamer state i stopped reading that its drivvle ages ago, I personally beleive it will quite good not perfect by any means but better than the unmodded original.
 
Not wishing to hammer further nails into the Clear sky coffin,but PC Format aren't exactly over the moon with the game either!

They have given it 70% but state "the below score is based on the assumption there'll be a pretty damned hefty post release patch,as there was with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.If there isn't you can slice 10% off and justifiably refer to Clear Sky as a disaster".

2nd opinion from a different reviewer in same mag states "Being 'in the the zone' used to be such a positive thing.In Clear sky the zone's more like hard work and temper fraying irritation,the entire game is a step down from what we had in the first outing.Perhaps modders will knock it into shape,or perhaps it will disappear like a stone into a cold uncaring lake".

They sum up by saying "not strictly a failure,but it is potentially 2008's most disappointing PC game,and will certainly need a hefty post-release patch.

Won't be taking the bad reviews to heart myself and will still buy the game,as has been stated previously Stalker seems to provoke wildly varying opinions,so no review can be taken too seriously imo.

After all they usually hire a proficient speaker in the language to do the translation, not the coders.

Well FF7 was translated with quite a few glaring mistakes "This guy are sick" and I didn't hear too many people complaining :p
 
Kinda saw this coming tbh. Thing that made the original stalker so awesome was that it was essentially a post-apocalyptic/horror explorer game for the escapist type gamer, but with a tactial fps shooter foundation. With Clear Sky, the focus seems to have moven away from the "explorer" aspect and hence the magic from the original game will enivitably be lost somewhat.
 
:mad: Wow...since I speak Ukrainian, they could have hired me for a couple of hours to go through the dialogue with them, and I could have made a big difference! :o Oh I wish they spoke Ukrainian in this game, would be so cool! :)

Hehe, why aren't you doing that already then? Translating can pay quite well...
 
I found the first one very hard work, and a bit too desolate at times. I might wait till the price falls a lot before getting it.

I might have to get a new graphics card too. I play at 1600x1200 with a 8800 GTS 640.
