The more I eat,the hungrier I get?

So in your estimation how old would you have to be to make the decision? I only ask because I was around 4 or 5 when I chose to stop eating meat, up to that point I had been given meat when I wanted although I was aware that my mum was vegetarian.

Can we be clear on this, being vegetarian does not automatically make you unhealthy. Not eating a good balanced diet can make you unhealthy.

And at that age what made you stop eating meat? Your mum is vegetarian, makes me wonder at such a young age if you decided to do the same as your mum mainly because she was your mum.

I just cant help thinking its pathetic to be vegetarion, there is nothing wrong with eating meat, and the only damn way people are going to get it is by killing like all animals do, ok so we dont hunt down the cows in the field then rip em open and eat there insides like animals, we do it in slaughter houses but so what? Lets stop all the wildlife killing for there food, lets round em all up. NOTHING WRONG WITH EATING MEAT!!!

And I would not be surprised if it was a fact non vegies are healthier than those who eat propor meat (not mcdonalds or burger kind) and those who eat the fake sausages and all that are even more pathetic.

well, I've always had a hell of a lot of vegetables in my diet, and often the food i eat contains lots of butter, I have milk with meals etc. so i think my diet isn't that bad, i stepped onto the scales the other day, and I was 5 1/2 stone, wtf? 1/2 a stone in a week or two?

How many meals a day do you have?

I eat crap loads and have only lost 2 stone in about 6 months me due to cycling, even when I did no exercise I ate loads and never even gained weight.

How is it?

IMO its pathetic to be vegetarian, no matter how many people are vegetarian cows, sheep, chicken etc.. is going to keep been slaughtered.

Its not like vegetarians dont like meat.

My above has truth in it no matter how many vegetarians jump on it.

Sorry but if you're going to be vegitatiran during your major growth spurt you really should see a nutritionalist/doctor and really plan a good diet.

It's a lot harder to get the things you need, might want to try vitamin/iorn supliments, but you really should at the very least read around and plan a healthy diet.

14 is when males go through one of their major growth spurts, so you'll need a lot of protein etc, which means legumes etc not just vegetables.

Thats a bit of a sweeping statement...

Well I think its true, a vegetarian does not like the taste of fish, chicken, ham, pork, bacon etc... every single meat out is a load of rubbish, and if they happen to not like them all, then its a fluke.

All my vegetarian friends do indeed like the taste of meat, but don't eat it out of a moral choice.

I like the taste to much to care about the morality :p

Yes, yes I did. I can't say for definite that my mum had no influence on my choice but I do know that the decision was mine and I haven't regretted it once since that day. I simply decided that I didn't like the taste of meat, I had a basic understanding of farming practices and didn't like many of the mass production methods employed but it would be untrue to say that factored greatly in my choice at the time. To say otherwise would be ex post facto rationalisation but it was certainly my choice and mine alone.

Ok chief, simmer down a second and point me to where people have said there is something wrong with eating meat? More specifically where I've said that would be helpful as otherwise you're arguing against a point that was never made in the best tradition of straw men arguments.

And I would not be surprised if it was a fact non vegies are healthier than those who eat propor meat (not mcdonalds or burger kind) and those who eat the fake sausages and all that are even more pathetic.

Your sentence is missing either a negative or includes too many, I'm not sure which because it doesn't make sense as it stands.

I would be surprised if when comparing two people who have healthy and balanced diets if you could highlight which was the vegetarian and which was the omnivore.

I'm missing a lot of stuff tbh, I'm only speaking from my opinions and some of it may be wrong or right.

I've just heard and seen that some veggies hate the way meat is produced. I dont like the way some chickens are held and all that, like millions in a small farm and then those in the cages so I choose to eat free range as its better, I think that the animals should have a good life whilst they are alive at least.

But in my opinion I find it silly to be vegetarian, if you are fine with the way its been killed, which everyone should be compared to how it was done thousands of years back... then I see no point, I just also cant see a single person not liking the taste of every single type of meat from every single animal out there, just does not seem realistic to me and I highly doubt every person out there who claims to be a veggie does indeed hate all meat.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as an arse in the other thread, I just didn't want them mixing over, thanks for leaving it :)

:o

Indeed, having any free will is disgusting. Good grief.

Is it? I'd say having a free will is not discusting, its perfectly normal.

If someone wants to be a vegetarian for whatever odd reason then fine no one is stopping them, but I certainly think its silly to be one and thats MY opinion.

ok so if everybody in the world was vegetarian, cows would be slaughtered for people to eat?

No but its impossible for everyone in the world to be vegetarian and not everyone would want to be.

If the human race was vegetarian by nature then thats fine, but where not.

they would still be slaughter for leather, dairy cows are slaughtered when they stop producing enough milk. Is it ok for that to happen as long as they are not eaten?
Im guessing you dont own anything that was made from a dead animal?

No but most would be slaughtered as we'd need the land for crops.

Who's going to keep cows in britain for no profit? (well maybe a few for religious reasons same in India)

cows aside, would there be the same amount of pigs, hens, sheep, and other animals that are slaughtered for food if everyone was vegetarian. and not as many cows would be killed if there wasn't a demand for beef. and actually we don't have any leather in our house at all :P

Silly and pathetic are very different words, do not use one when you mean the other.
