The Downing to Liverpool rumours don't surprise me, nor would I be surprised if they did actually sign him. That's their problem, they sign way too many average players.

Ah, didn't realise he didn't sign Ashton (still he could've looked for a replacement, we all know now that Ashton is injury prone.)

Upson has had loads of injuries hasn't he? And Bellamy has always had trouble with his hamstring.

Anyone who is moaning needs to get a grip. When Albert Riera was playing his fifteen games for Manchester City, David Silva was distinctly average on loan at a mid table team and Quaresma was left out of his country's squad for the up-and-coming international tournament.

Wait till he's played a few games before you judge him. And the fee is closer to £10m than £8m.

I'm not sure, but Spurs are defiantly in a lose, lose situation. They ether roll over and accept a low bid, or hang on to a player that probably wont play for the club again. Unlike the Barry saga Berbatov has no morals and no loyalty to the club. My guess is the deal will go through on the cheap, but it'll be too late for spurs to sign another striker and they'll seriously struggle with only Bent upfront this season.

David Silva was also only 20 years old. :p

There are plenty of better wingers out there that Rafa could have bought, seems like he's made a mistake to me.

Wow, that makes me feel so much better :confused:

The fact is he's 26 and never really performed at any club he's played at.
