Gainward GTX 260 Box Contents

I received a Gainward GTX 260 yesterday which seems to have already been used. The box contents included just 1xDVI to VGA, 1xDVI to HDMI and a driver CD. Can someone here please confirm whether the Gainward card should include extras such as Audio cable (for output via the DVI-HDMI dongle), warranty cards or 6pin power convertors?

The card itself was covered in greasy fingerprints and light scratches:mad:. Unfortunately I did not had time to test it because work kept me late last night.

Thanks for the warning, that's put me off a bargain Gainward card.

did u test the card?

im getting one tomorrow oh dear :(

I dont care if its used as long as it works

not interested in the extras either tbh

Sending my Gainward back, not used - well I don't think so but broken. Bought a BFG instead - wish I did in the first place ha.

I couldn't be bothered testing it, knowing that I was going to send it back. I doubt OcUK will try to sell it as new because it was scratched and dusted up.

The games were not cherry picked at 8xaa. There were 4 games in total and the 4870 at 8xaa was faster than the 280 in 3 out of 4. At 4xaa the 280 was ahead in most so this shows just how much of a hit the gtx series had taken when the aa was pushed up to 8x. There was another review showing 8xaa performance somewhere with 8 different games that showed the same thing but can't find it no more its on these forums somewhere.

was that at 1680 x 1050 ?

I got the same as the OP with my Gainward GTX280 but I also got a GRID copy but with no manual or licence key in my box, any ideas on that one?

Just check the card looks new and doesn't have any fingerprints, scratches or dust inside. The card should come with a manual and a couple of DVI dongles. Mine had no manual and you could tell it was used as soon as the box was open.

...and OcUK have not refunded my postage as promissed. Awaiting 3rd webnote reply.....

LOL

OcUK put that in there, something shady is going on here ;)

(They are currently giving away GRID with any purchase from AMD)

My Samsung 2232BW had a tatty box and some dirty marks on the screen. Also the case and stand have swirl marks on the plastic like they have been wiped over with a cleaning cloth.

I'm not bothered though as it works fine and there are no dead pixels. That was what i was most worried about.

I have two of the Gainward cards. EDIT: I have tow of the 280's not the 260's.

Exactly the same contents as the OP. What's the problem again?

err, a dirty used graphics card with scratches, fingerprints and dust everywhere was my problem.

Anyway, OcUK refunded my outstanding postage costs today so all is now ok.
