All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Chelsea will make a final £80m bid for AC Milan's Kaka, with the Brazil star reportedly keen on a move after the arrival of compatriot Ronaldinho at the San Siro, whose lifestyle does not meet with Kaka's approval.

The Liberty Stadium in Swansea didn't even cost 30 million quid...

Jesus £80m could buy an entire squad plus a new stadium for some teams :-/

That's just silly money...

Yep, Alves is like a more predatory Torres, that's why his goal return is so good

Alves has a better goal scoring record. The issue here is that Torres plays for Liverpool and Alves plays for Middlesbrough. A gulf of class, and as I said before, when Alves was getting up to pace in the EPL.

I think Alves is 6 goals in 8 games in the EPL and he was banging them in for fun pre-season. So yes, I stand by what I said.

Serbia is pretty hot and dry in the summer, I can see why he is moaning a bit about the weather here. I don't think there are many people who wouldn't prefer better weather here, unfortunately family, jobs, friends, etc tend to ensure most people stay put.

I would not be surprised if he looks to move out to Spain or Italy at some point in his career, but it ain't happening any time soon without a big money offer.

Yeah I think if I earnt £30-80k a week I would move to Italy for the weather and general place.

After playing for Arsenal until I couldnt kick a ball of course.

Bent was banging them in pre-season too.

Milner isnt as good as many make him out to be,yes he works his socks off but with very little finished product.

He only had a cracking game last night as he was up against a side from a lower division.

Not just last night, he's played loads of good games, totally underrated IMO.

He can **** off if he wants but he could've handed a transfer request in earlier, we should get a replacement before selling him, and if we can't let Milner rot in the reserves.

At full-time of his match, when everyone returned to the dressing room tired and drained, he went up to the manager and handed in a transfer request. :p.

Gah.

Gutted about Milner. I think we would have had a pretty decent midfield with Jonas on the left and Milner on the right. They are both quick, strong, capable of going past people and putting in a decent ball. Coupled with the fact that both work hard in defence as well....

Gutted.

What's the odds on Roy Keane's spending spree carrying on and he tries to sign another ex-Newcastle player into a Sunderland player :p

ITK, Milner to Sunderland anyone?

Or will Milner be added to the Spurs watch list that's already 600 people long

I can't see Milner going to Sunderland, Chopra only went because he couldn't make the Newcastle team, Milner can.

If he did go however, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes come derby day. :p

I don't think you can blame Darrent Bent for Tottenham's lack of wins thus far... he's had what... 2 chances in total in 2 games?

Nemanja Vidic would like to clarify comments attributed to him in several UK newspapers, which have either been taken out of context or misquoted.

Vidic conducted an interview with Russian football magazine Football Weekly, in which he was quoted criticising Manchester's weather and the English lifestyle.

In the interview the defender did discuss how difficult he found it adapting to life in England - including the rain Manchester occasionally experiences - when he first joined from Spartak Moscow in January 2006. He freely admits that, in his first six months in England, he struggled with a new language and culture which contrasted with that of Russia or his native Serbia.

But he feels compelled to clear up other comments attributed to him in the UK press, in which he supposedly said: "In Manchester the main attraction is a timetable at the railway station where trains leave for less rainy cities!

"In England people don't have time to feel the joy of life. Throughout the week they work so hard. They only talk to people at lunch. Then in the evening they watch TV so they can get up early for work the next day."

Nemanja told ManUtd.com: "I'd like to clarify that I did not make these particular remarks. I spoke about the difficulty I had settling in to life in Manchester, but that does not reflect how I feel now.

"I enjoy my life very much as a footballer at Manchester United and I'm very happy to be a part of this great club. I think I show that in the way I play every week. I also have far too much respect for the people of Manchester, and England, to criticise them in this way."
