Just got caught doing '60' in a 30

Agree with Mohinder and fox .. I ride/drive to road conditions not speed limits ...

Clean licence ..yup ...drive for a living ...yup

what im more concerned about is a ped dpoing an indicated 50-60 .. Unrestricted ? Tell yer insurance company? Another can of worms lol .

Some people need to get over themselves .. More so when they have no idea how a modern bike deals with todays silly limits :P

I know a friend who was doing 96mph in his Golf RS32 I think on a 50mph road and the police car pulled him over, actually blocked him off from the front, and he had no excuse other than he was late for work and the police officer said don't do it again. I like this policeman:D

How do you know you got caught exactly? Will they not send you a fine through the post in a week or so?

Did they pull you over and have a chat? Sorry it's not clear to me.

I've been tempted to break a few thirties at those sort of speeds recently but at the last minute common sense seems to kick in when i realise if I'm over 40 I probably won't be so lucky.

Remember kids, all 30 zones are near parks, playgrounds and have houses on them. There are no stupid pointless 30 limits in the middle of nowhere, there are no long straight 30 limits which suddenly narrow into twisting NSL roads and there are certainly no wide, long roads through industrial estates at 2am.

I agree with fox again! rare occasion indeed ;)

Lots of 30s near me where doing 60 is perfectly safe, no houses, straight road - only at night would I consider such actions though :p

Haha, the trade I bought the bike from said it was actually restricted, which obviously isn't the case. Blatantly the police aren't going to have any of that if they find out. Come on though, being stuck at 30mph 24/7 is completely ridiculous and is more unsafe than being de-stricted.

Arhh, my bad. I should have explained. They pulled me over, quick chat/warning/check and they were off.

So you had a conversation and they didn't so much as give you an incline as to why they were just giving you a warning?!

Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they liked your bike?

yes we have

Edit: in fact, I'm going to hang my balls out in the breeze and say it

I've touched the ton in a 30 limit, more than once

I ****ing dare you to judge me without knowing the circumstances, the road, the machine I was on, the time of night, and so on and so forth.

One day you'll kill somebody or you''ll have an accident and kill yourself, Ill put this quote on your tombstone.

soem 30 zones are stupid tho there was one near where im fron nearly 2 miles long was always a 60 then someone crashed drunk and it got put into a 30

That could be the case. It's quite a nice bike, also I cleaned it earlier today. No, but seriously he just said "So, we're gonna let you off with a warning" and on they went. Simple.

Oh, and I now love Mohinder.

Do you not speed then?

If you've ever broken the speed limit you can shut the **** up, because you did what I do, you ignored the law because you felt you knew better.

I've never gone to the extreme by doing 100 in a 30, If you were to make a little mistake and lose control, the chances are that your going to die.

Nobody is talking about doing 100.

Why would you die doing 60 in an empty 30 in the dead of night but not doing 60 in a 60?

there's 30 limit roads where you can comfortably nudge a ton and be of no danger to anyone.

I'll say i've done 60 in a 30mph limit before at the dead of night, but it was quite a bit safer to have been doing 30mph in them.

I'll admit there might be a few 30 roads which are safe for higher speeds, but the vast majority are not safe in any way for 100mph - be it the state of the road surface, the type of vehicles which frequent the road or houses along the road.

disregarding dumb luck.

You want to be careful with that one, dumb luck may just catch you out one day.

When I replied I was quoting his 100 in a 30 reply, I'm not against speeding, but I think of my own safety when doing so.

100 in a 30 is not necessarily an extreme, as has been explained more than once, a 30 limit sign does not mean you're driving through a school playground.

I know that, I mean if you make a simple mistake, which everybody does, your going to do a lot of damage to yourself while doing those speeds.

Whereas if I were on the Autobahn, which has no speed limit, I would be perfectly safe.

Oh no wait, I wouldn't. Use your ****ing brain
