Must admit I didn't know what 'ton' was...
100 in a 30 is not necessarily an extreme, as has been explained more than once, a 30 limit sign does not mean you're driving through a school playground.
Maybe not one of the best things to admitMust admit I didn't know what 'ton' was...
a 30 limit sign does not mean you're driving through a school playground.
I know that, I mean if you make a simple mistake, which everybody does, your going to do a lot of damage to yourself while doing those speeds.
I'll say i've done 60 in a 30mph limit before at the dead of night, but it was quite a bit safer to have been doing 30mph in them.
I'll admit there might be a few 30 roads which are safe for higher speeds, but the vast majority are not safe in any way for 100mph - be it the state of the road surface, the type of vehicles which frequent the road or houses along the road.
You want to be careful with that one, dumb luck may just catch you out one day.
Its not about your safteyIt may. It may not. I may drop dead of a heart attack before this hour's up.

But 30 roads do tend to have a lot less straights and its harder to see what's the hazards in front of you.
And that's what really annoys me, theres no real punishment for those that do decide to cut across a road recklessly. Idiot crosses a busy 60mph road and you hit him doing 58mph its considered an accident, hit him doing 65 and you get done for dangerous driving.Well if you avoid standing in the middle of the road at four in the morning, I'd say you've a fair chance of making it through the night.
No, because doing 10mph offers no significant advantage over doing 20 or 30mph.Safer still to do 10mph.
And don't forget the body armour.
Have you had your malaria injection?
The vast majority does not mean all.

Quiz time.....i'm not sure what my chances of being shot are compared to the chances of me having an accident whilst doing 60mph through a 30mph limit.... i'll let you try and work it out.
See above.I don't feel that protection is necessary considering there were only 1700 reported cases of malaria, 8 of which were fatal - and 57% of them were from people who had been travelling abroad. Again, i'm going to have to ask you - what do you think the chances are of me contracting malaria are, in comparison to me having a car accident whilst doing 60mph in a 30mph limit.
I'm not sure why i'm having to explain this to you
I'm not sure why i'm having to explain this to you, as you clearly know this - i can only assume you are "playing dumb" to try and invalidate my point - which isn't going to work.
Again with the "something really bad might happen to me tomorrow so i might as well drive at 200mph everywhere, smoke 500 cigarettes a day and take copious amounts of heroin" argument? It's getting old and it certainly doesn't wash.
No, neverIs there such a thing as an occasion where it is acceptable to reach a speed of nearly 100mph in an area signposted as a 30mph limit?
No, never
3) Seriously, who are these people that stand in the middle of the road in the middle of nowhere at 4am in the morning?
