Well, having never watched the program, I got in mail an invite to apply to try and be one of the poor sods in reality tv.
I thought I'd be interesting because in my area (posh), I'm 'poor', live in a very small studio apartment with my partner, full of about 8 years worth of kidult junk, love cooking and would probably do some funky fusion dishes of my own device, oh and i can choose which wines will go well with what I cook, so that front's sorted i think.
I'll probably do this all for a laugh, as actually I abhor reality tv, especially since they choose whatever makes good tv, rather than whats sane. But,
what I want to know that if I actually do get past the application process, is what kind of wierd angles do people come from really? For me a good dinner party is where everyone sits and yaks, enjoys food + wine combination, with lulls in conversation cheerfully propped up by the picking up of one of many abovementioned kidult items before going off in complete tangents.
As I haven't watched it, I heard that ppl on the show are generally intent on winning the prize money, poke around ppl's house (not much room in mine!, plus ablative layers of kidult junk); do you think simplicity/old fashionedness can work in the show, or will I probably have to think of some outrageous persona to put on?
