All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Does anyone really think Utd would be stupid enough to go ahead with the deal without first being sure they've sorted everything with Spurs?

Not just Utd, it would be crazy for any club to do business that way.

If he doesn't get his own way he'll play like a turd until January, and he'll be hated by the Spurs fans. In their best interests to let him go tbh, he plays rubbish when he's in a strop.

Its being finalized, I'm sure, Levys changed his tune from "No" to "No Comment".

And if you were doing something wrong, you wouldn't do it this publicly.

For goodness sake, United got 30mil from winning the Champions League, however much from winning the League plus other amounts of income and they're not doing anything!

Aye, it was 2006 actually. And it was only about four people according to the archives. That was busy back in the day eh.

*smokes pipe, looks wistfully out of window at young posters running carefree*

:D

Link it, i want to see who the legends are :)

Don't know how much I believe that, the 10x figures seems more likely to be against how much Abramovich has already invested in Chelsea, not his overall wealth.

You dont eh

His family are the royal family of abu dhabi

They own the 4th largest oil reserve in the world

His company hydra properties closed contracts worth over 2billion pounds last year

He's the 17th richest sheikh in the world and yet hes only 31. His assets stand at 875 BILLION

He makes abramovich look like hes on the dole mate

The spent a fair bit last season, no? And they still need to actually buy Tevez, and they're in a massive amount of debt, and the world financial climate isn't the best. Etc.

All Last Season's spending is mostly on performances etc and paid for mostly by winning the prem last season

Our home games are sold out - pays for the annual debt repayment

We won £80m last season from EPL and CL , so we have plenty in the coffers

Last season yes but the season before that and the one before that, United spent very little. This season they won more than the previous season...and they've removed quite a few players this season.
