I bet a lot of experimental aircraft are or could be tested over that area and so I wouldn't discount the possibility.

So far, off-islands are being asked whether any chinese laterns (!) were let off last night, as it's the only thing we can come up with that would behave like that (rising steadily, continual brightness, repeated sightings)
 
If another race somewhere out there in the universe had the ability to come and spy on us, surely they would have the intelligence to turn the lights off on the outside of their ships to be a bit less visible!

how come in the past radar instalations have never picked up suposed UFO sightings? even ones that have been really close to military bases? there was that incident in england years ago where most of the base claimed to see a ufo but radar saw nothing.

if we can make planes that soak up radar etc im sure the people who make ufos can.

ufos are generally seen to be circular anyway with no flatt edges to reflect radar signals back?

if they were so advanced that they could cross the vast distances of space what makes you think they care about beeing noticed?
theres storys in the bible etc about ufos and in many other ancient writings if they didnt care then i doubt they would now

what if its just a passer-by not aware that the planet it is currently visiting has life on it until the last minute when it is too late and spotted by someone? :p
