The Godless - OcUK Guild Wars Guild Members Details...........................

I was chatting with some ex-GW players in AoC today, reminiscing about how the PvP was pre-Factions... Then I went online and tried to find some vids from the original World Championship, and discovered that www.gwversus.com has been taken offline and those videos aren't archived anywhere! :(
Anyone remember the WM v LUM matchl? Watching that on obs mode for me was on the same level of excitement as watching a World Cup final! :) It's not the same anymore, sure the game is more balanced because every build has a coutnerbuild, but the balance depends more on hard counters - powerful, spammable skills that take all the art and the thinking straight out of it, it's almost rock, paper, scissors now. If they go back to the more malleable balance of soft counters for GW2 I swear I'll be first in line, banging on ANet's doors from alpha till release! :D

On the plus side, AoC, while it doesn't have anywhere near the same flexibility and variety in builds, does have a fast-paced gameplay style that can sort of compare to GW's, and if I find a good PvP guild it should keep me amused for awhile!
 
Recently got the net back in the flat, only poor Vodafone mobile though so I'm always on a mid 100's ping.
I've been on a couple of times this week, will hopefully be on at weekend. Been playing through Eye of the North with help of Toker this week. Hopefully I might actually finish it within 2 months...

I'd check it out on obs mode but my Turtle Beach Montego drivers make GW.exe crash... :( Did you get to fight any of the famous veteran guilds I might've heard of?
 
Would it be worth joining if you only have the basic GW game?

Also, is it possible to buy second hand add ons and use them or is it a case the the serials are linked to different accounts?
 
Don't bother with second hand copies of Guild Wars. Everything is linked to the serials you get in the box, so if they've been used before you're out of luck.

They are dirt cheap nowadays though.

Probably turned out for the best, the first 4 rounds consisted of 'you win if you have more players connecting'. Some matches loaded with 1-2 people.

But I guess it worked out alright in the end, didnt miss much except for being beaten when you shouldnt of^
 
Well im completely hooked again, started a new character as i had never played as a warrior before, and now im enjoying it again :D

Noticed i have 2 lovely mini pets in my oldest character too w00t, loving the birthday pressies, anyone fancy meeting up on there at some point? perhaps hop on a ventrilo server and get an OcUK game going
 
anyone who doesnt play this and has no ambition to play it anymore fancy giving away some gold or other assets? :D
