Ramadan Mubarak

Fasting takes place from sunrise to sunset.

I think what Justin is driving at is that if you work nights and sleep during the day you've rather neatly circumvented the whole fasting issue because you normally don't eat while you are sleeping (or at least I never have). It might not be completely cheating but it would certainly seem to be outwith the spirit of the fast if not the actual rules governing it (not to change around your daily habits unduly).

That wouldn't work. You'd have to just get up in the night quickly for meals and then go back to sleep. I did this occasionally with breakfast (getting up before sunrise then going back to sleep) when I could feel bothered.

Sorry, you've lost me. Why would you not be able to swap round days and nights to all intents and purposes?

Because the point is that you fast between sunrise and sunset - not the start and end of your day.

EDIT: No wait, I'm an idiot, I was thinking you were saying you swap it so you only eat between sunrise and sunset rather than between sunset and sunrise.. I'm not a morning person lol

If you are fasting properly then part of it is the daily prayers so you would have to get up for these anyway and then the hunger would hit you anyway!:D

Spot on! Trying to make it easier by sleeping during the day when you normally you wouldn't totally defeats the purpose.

What happens if you die due to fasting? Will it be considered suicide?

Anyway, im about to break mine with a nice smooth Cadbury's Flake

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

How would you die? Some people go so over the top with this. It's the easiest thing in the world..
