great, latest CTD has knackered all my saves.
Gutted for you mate. how far had you got? i have to restart last night after patching it!

This is even more stupid than the first game.
It gives you tasks to do , but when your about halfway to your destination it says you have failed or task cancelled.
Or you walk somewhere ready to take on the enemy, but the minute you get there it gets taken over by your guys.

Luckily not too far at all. Was still messing about with the settings, trying to get the blooming things to stick, aa vsync etc. Got it running quite nicely so thought I'd crack into it.
Re: my saves, seems it only knackered a few of them so managed to get back to a working one, been saving regularly so not lost much. But the darn things just done it to me again. So I'm going to give up on it for now.
Might try again tomorrow but think I'll wait for some fixes and/or the next patch.
Shame though as it looks and runs ok and I was enjoying it.
Wouldn't worry to much about those, they are just option bits and come and go all the time as far as I can tell. Stick to the main ones and just help out on those if you are in the area. Part of the a-life stuff I guess.

Mine has ctd'd a few times now so i've given up for the night too. Back to it tomorrow i suppose!
Other than the 2/3 crashes mines been ok though.
Like i siad i've done a few cordon bits and really enjoying it.
With the game patched, what version number should come up at the menu? Mine says V1.5.03 but I can't remember if I even patched it. The patch I download says it is up to date but I just want to check. I'm getting that 'Guide not taking you to Cordan' bug. For all I know I download the wrong one.

I have noticed my 2nd core is not being used by the game. It seems to max out at 25%. This may explain some of the performance issues.
I loved the original and replayed it over and over again. Had this on pre-order for months. Installed and patched it as soon as it arrived. It plays smoothly with everything on high at 1680x1050 and could be fantastic except... I've had one CTD and three BSODS tonight. The first Blue screens I've had in several years. I'll try backing off some of the advanced settings (have some AA and a lot of AS) but if it BSODS once more its being uninstalled until they finish the game by patch.
As a big fan of the first I'm gutted so far

too many CTD for my liking, im gonna shelve it for a couple of months.

No it you wont be let down, I wanted to llike the the first one but struggled, this one however is really good, i litteraly played it from dawn till dusk yesterday...just about to load it back up in a min....
It does need a good PC to run on good settings though...
No it doesn't, it looks great on my 8800GT at 1920x1200 with Full Dynamic Lighting and everything else maxed out, including some AA.
Runs nice and smooth too, I tried the "Full Lighting" and noticed no change however the FPS was halved, I've heard Dx10 decreases performance even more.
Seriously, I was expecting a complete performance hog, this is the opposite. My old 8800GT handles it well, surprisingly.
no thats the patch i've got. i had a guide not take me to cordon. go to the farm in the swamp thats the guide who took me!
I've just been mugged at the garbage!!!! not happy!!!! heads will role for this.....
I'm loving this so much. got all max settings full lighting (not dx10 tho!) and full details, AA,AS all maxed and never goes below 60fps.
