Amir Khan vs Briedis Prescott

Get him back on ITV to fight the weak :p

Will Sky want to make use of him for the next coiple of fights? I read he signed a multi fight deal?

Or I suppose he can always just get a regular job like the rest of us, his 5mins of being the local hero are over :)

When people say Warren is to blame for over-hyping Khan, of course he is, he's a PROMOTER. His job is to get the best fights which more people will pay for and to earn as much money as possible for himself and the fighter. With hype comes both money and opportunity, something that is the cornerstone of the promotion business so blaming Frank Warren isn't really justified. He is partly responsible but ultimately, Team Khan are to blame; they had a choice and Khan himself working with his new trainer had a plan which was considered and accepted, if futile.

Khan walked onto a bigger, hard hitting fighter. It's a basic error, shows he was thinking more of glory than victory and had he tucked himself up and the fight ends up being a stinker but you pull out a victory, then so be it. A win is a win. Khan should have known better.

Edit: Prescott was Khan's choice.

Why is everyone saying..

"Thats dented his ego"
"He neeeded knocking down a peg or too"

He didn't have an ego at all. I can't understand where that comes from.

Khan after the fight:

"I'm a world beater and I'm going to come back stronger. I'm really sorry to my fans."

He probably thought that he was so good a defense wasn't even necessary.

Over rated british boxer coming up against a real test.

Loses as per, its like most things with the british media, there british so thus are blates better then "said person".

Same with the football :)

Amir Khan needed this, as did the media.

STOKED! Ive been getting bored of Khan being groomed against poor opposition :D

Glad it was a KO

And yeah he does or did have a huge ego

This IMO is complete and utter BS I keep hearing over and over again. He wasnt groomed against poor opposition, he fought against fighters through the ranks. He made easy work of it because he was much better than they were. The problem of making rise too quickly is what we saw yesterday, which was he was totally out classed.

And as per usual, it shows what a bunch of weasels the British public are. They usually big up about being proud of being British but seem to revel in the loss of someone representing Britain against a foreigner.

However IMO he hadn't made easy work of it which is why I thought he was totally overhyped.

He got put down by Willie Limond who's not much more than a domestic class fighter with hardly any KO's in his career.

Michael Gomez was a past it super featherweight and he had Khan down, rocking and rolling as well.

He was making heavy weather of beating the low level fighters he was always going to get mullered first time he tackled someone half decent.

Even the Columbian bloke was a nothing fight in the division yet looked like Tyson in his prime against Khan!!

even if he did have a ego there nothing wrong with that IMO

pretty much all boxers have that cocky attitude its part of what makes them great (well not in khans case but still :D )

Meh he'll be on Sky Sports now......big fight live :P no PPV for him for a good while!

Couldnt have happened to a nicer guy imo haha!

Especially after his interview pre-fight, "everyone knows whats gona happen when I get in the ring"

Amir Khan is another Prince Naseem Hamed

Difference being that Hamed was a brilliant boxer....

Hamed could have been a bigger star if he didn't believe in his own hype and get rid of the people who got him to the top. Shame he didn't have the heart to continue boxing.

Just shows Amir Khan cannot take a punch and also has a suspect chin
Are they separate things?

Hamed was one of the greatest British fighters of all time. He lost to one of the greatest fighters in the world and hadn't been on form for his previous 3 fights. The writing was on the wall for Naz before he fought Barerra. By your logic, Hatton too is a bum because of the Mayweather defeat.
