Catalyst 8.9 BETA (8.53) Vista 32/64, XP soon

Vista, SP1 and Assassins Creed with no patches for to see DX10.1. If you update you will be involved in the controversial removal of the DX10.1 code by Ubisoft. If you've already patched Assassins Creed then save your saved game profile and reinstall with no patches and you should be fine :).
i reinstalled the game and canceled the automatic update patchs. but tbh i can't see any different in fps. i read the readme file on the dvd and it says dx9 or dx10.0. it doesn't say anything about dx 10.1.

How recently did you buy Assassins Creed? It might be that after they released a patch which removed directx 10.1, all future production runs of the game have it removed as well?
i bought it about a week ago. after installing the game the auto update finds a patch but i cancel that before it downloads it.

Scroll to the bottom. The reviewer states that he didn't patch the game to see the benefits of DX10.1. I've also seen benchmarks before and after the removal of DX10.1 but this was before the release of the 48-- series.

hmmm. look at this below.

================================================================================
Assassin's Creed v1.02 Update
================================================================================
* Fixed a rare crash while riding the horse in Kingdom
* Fixed a corruption of Altair’s robe on certain graphics hardware
* Cursor is now centered when accessing the Map
* Fixed a few problems with Alt-Tab
* Fixed a graphical bug in the final fight
* Fixed a few graphical problems with dead bodies
* Fixed pixellation with post-FX enabled on certain graphics hardware
* Fixed a small bug in the DNA Menu that would cause the image to disappear if the arrow was clicked rapidly
* Fixed some graphical corruption in Present Room with low Level Of Detail
* Character input is now cancelled if the controller is unplugged while moving
* Added support for x64 versions of Windows
* Fixed post-FX with DirectX 10.1
so the patch doesn't remove the dx 10.1 coding....

i see now what u mean...

this is all down to nVidia, just because they don't wanna put dx10.1 on they cards, they stoping game makers from puting it in the games. nVidia is chidish. seem like nVidia are scared that ati as got one thing over them

Aye, seems so :(. Looks like we'll have to wait for Nvidia to catch up to enjoy the support of 4xAA with no performance hit in other titles. You can bet anything that once Nvidia has the ability to use this that it will start to be included in other games.

Wheres this damn 8.9 final!! My ccc keeps thinking my HDMI is a DVI connection and wont send audio down it. :rolleyes:

It was working fine until I changed the HDMI port on the amp.

Can anyone confirm these correct issues with dual monitors?

I'm not 100% sure what the problems have been with 4850/4870's and dual monitors but now looking to get a 2nd monitor I'd just like to confirm I won't be messed about by graphics drivers.

Edit: Completely missed Rafster's post, ignore.
