Yeah i agree with you completely when i first logged in i was looking for faults such as clunky combat etc but i was quite suprised at how fluent it was.

I played a Zealot for a little while aswell and it seemed fun, but i then tryed a Black Orc and absolutely loved it as i could take on multiple mobs at once without any problems what so ever and i was brilliant in the PQ's as the bosses were smashing others to bits.

I liked the RvR as unlike a warrior in WoW with a shield you don't die in 5-10 seconds, i was smashing the melee keeping them of the healers while i was getting healed and managed to take out a group of 4-5 melee at one point while putting slows on everyone. I actually felt i was useful in pvp as a tank and the only other game that made me feel that way in the last few years was Lineage2 where tanks played a major part in pvp and didn't hinder a pvp group.

I also liked the way when i wasn't being target i could switch to a big two hander and smash order face in, which made me loose a lot of damage reduction but increased by damage by a load so i could crush their healers.

Overall i can't wait to get play from live now, it might not be a WoW killer yet, but i've grown tired of playing the same game on and off the last four years and i think this will replace it nicely. There are a few problems still with the game, but they are not gamebreaking so the game still plays really well compared to some other games.

If anyone would like to party up and do some of the harder quests im on Ellyrion server as Destruction and i am a Black Orc name Kaiez.

I did sign up to assassinsoffate but what with all the problems with beta i thought half the people didnt get in and there was no mention of which server so. I just rolled one that had a average destruction order ratio

I keep swip swapping between the two :p

Yea i mean when i was playing there was a few bugged bits and mobs but hey i guess thats what betas for. As long as people report stuff it should hopefully get fixed :D

I think it's about time people stopped asking if the next mmo is a "WoW Killer".
Only one company can kill off WoW and thats Blizzard.

Have we got the guild accually together ie the 50s thing yet or still working on it ?
 
Made a quick RvR vid of a run around last night. The bit in the house was fantastic, I was laughing on ventro after killing the first guy and not really concentrating, so the second guy took me down easily.
Keep in mind this was level 7-8 RvR which doesnt reflect how higher level RvR plays out, you only have a 10th the skills at this level :p Great fun though.
I'm going to try reuploading though as youtube's compression destroyed the quality.

Agree with this - rather than AoC's initial bang followed by a steady loss of players, I think WAR is going to start pretty well, but gradually build up a really big following as people realise that it is acually a viable alternative to WoW.

It's immediately familiar and easy to get into, but new and different enough to draw people in, and looks like it has what it takes to keep them there.

Of course it's not going to be a WoW killer, 10 million people aren't going to stop playing overnight, but I do think it'll take a million subs at least, and prove that it is actually possible to compete with WoW.
 
I just started the process from scratch using the same email address and it all worked. Got my Verify email email pretty snappy and then registered my code no email but allowed me to patch.

This company are a joke. Need to think about trusting them with me Card details.
 
I've enjoyed my stay there more than any other MMO in a good while. Instantly accessible and the Public Quests / RvR stuff has been great fun (I got fourth in the first PQ and got to loot the chest which was superb!)

Anyone know when the login portal is going to be back online?

Seeing as everyone is now registered and playing in their eyes :rolleyes:, there's no reason not to bring it back online. Seems I still have a problem with my account which can't be resolved until I can login and test it :(

On a brighter note the US client is downloaded, patched and fully ready to go, so regardless of GOA's incompetencies, I will be playing tonight.

I thought registering new accounts was currently not possibe?
 
Cheers Adsta. Nice little review. i am still going to wait though until release and hopefuly OCuK will have a guild/corp/group on a server somewhere where we can all join in and have some fun.

Hey guys i know im a bit late jumping on the WAR band wagon, but i managed to get a US beta key and im downloading the client now. My cousins are going to be playing the US servers upon release and im hoping to join them so will i have to wait for them to post the retail box to me or could i just purchase it off a download site e.g 'Direct2Drive'?

sounds like a good game, GOAs infrastructure and current approach need some work though, ive pretty much given up on OB, but itd be nice of them to get the account issues sorted before launch, im a little worried about the effectiness of their billing system if something as simple as account creation can trump them


knowing my luck they wont have maestro support so my ability to play will be somewhat hindered aswell...fun fun fun
 
Eventually played for a few hours last night as a Black Orc and loved it. The scenario I went in for was a real blast. My only concern atm is that I really liked LOTRO to start with too but got bored really quickly. Hopefully WAR looks like there's a lot more going on and variety in types of play.
